First-generation students make up about 20% of USC’s student population. First Pass helps eligible students take a practical first step toward learning abroad by covering the cost of a U.S. passport. ✈️📘

With support from for Integrative and Experiential Learning’s Community of Practice Grant and the IIE American Passport Project, we partnered with Stephen Thompson, faculty director of the First-Gen Living-Learning Community, to launch the initiative.

The Passport Workshop wrapped up the series, covering required documents, application steps and costs. Earlier events included the Education Abroad Fair and a workshop on exploring education abroad options at USC, scholarships, and funding information. 💰🎓

Together, the series connected students with clear information, practical next steps and campus partners ready to help. 🌍
