We loved welcoming Jeff Tate ’75 and Ellen Jo Hillis Tate ’75 back to campus with their granddaughter, Ansley!

The Tate family has a long history with Hendrix, with generations of alumni in the family. How special to see Jeff and Ellen Jo sharing a place that means so much to their family with the next generation.

Could Ansley be a future Warrior? We sure hope so! 🧡

One more event to add to your Homecoming & Family Weekend plans!

Stop by Ellis Hall on Friday, October 9, from 4–5 p.m. for the opening reception of “Commodification of Nature,” a new exhibition curated by Sophie Gray ’28 in collaboration with the Windgate Museum of Art and the Marshall T. Steel Center for the Study of Religion and Philosophy.

The exhibition brings together the work of eight artists and explores how the monetization of nature shapes our relationship with the environment.

If you’re coming to campus this weekend, stop by and check it out!

And it’s not too late to join us for the whole weekend! Register for Homecoming & Family Weekend here:

What happens when nature is treated as a commodity?

Sophie Gray ’28 invites us to consider that question through “Commodification of Nature,” a new art exhibition she curated in collaboration with the Windgate Museum of Art and the Marshall T. Steel Center for the Study of Religion and Philosophy.

Bringing together work by eight artists, the exhibition explores how the monetization of nature can reshape our relationship with the environment and challenges us to consider more mindful and sustainable ways of relating to the natural world.

The exhibition is currently on display in Ellis Hall, with an opening reception Friday, October 9, from 4–5 p.m.

A wonderful spotlight on one of our own! 🧡

Dr. Charles “Chuck” Chappell ’64 has made a lasting impact on generations of Hendrix students as an alumnus, beloved professor, mentor, and friend.

We’re so glad to see him featured in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s High Profile. Take a few minutes to read about a true Hendrix legend!

If ever someone met the definition of "immersed in their profession" it is Chuck Chappell, 84, who spent roughly half his working life in college classrooms, 41 years of that in the English department of Hendrix College in Conway. Throw in his own schooling and his longtime volunteering with LifeQuest of Arkansas, which leads senior citizens along the path of lifelong learning, and there have been few periods of his life not spent in education.

Read more about Chuck Chappell's story at the link in the comments.
