Alumni news! 🗞️ Allison Padron MA’23 is spending the month of August as an Artist-in-Residence at Byrdcliffe (Byrdcliffe Artist Residency) in Woodstock, NY! 🌳 Allison is currently a full-time elementary school teacher in Connecticut and is spending this residency working on several short stories and a new cyberpunk novel with an unreliable narrator. Congrats, Allie!

Cheers to MA’26 alum Laura DelViscio! Her short CNF piece (a portion of her master’s project) just received an Award for Excellence honorable mention from CRAFT! She was also accepted to the The Nonfiction MFA at Goucher in nonfiction program to start this fall! Congratulations, Laura - we can’t wait to see what comes next for you! 🎉

MA in Writing student Kara Knauss (Kara Knauss) was accepted to and attended the Orion Environmental Writing Workshop this month in Rhinebeck, NY. Kara is our third student in as many years to attend this competitive five day workshop! Congrats, Kara!

Join us in celebrating MA student Charlene Goddard who attended the Charlotte Black Film Festival last weekend. She won third place in the Pitch Me competition for her new script, “Girl Code,” and her cartoon “Magnificent Macie” was also screened! Congratulations, Charlene!
