We are excited to invite current and former IUP students (including grad students!) to the first Environmental Science Career Fair on Wednesday November 4, 3:00-5:30pm in the HUB (Ohio and Susquehanna rooms). This career fair is organized specifically for students with career aspirations in ecology and conservation. There will be over 25 vendors present, representing state agencies, consulting firms, non-profit organizations, and conservation districts.

Congratulations, Dr. Larkin🎉🙌

IUP Distinguished University Professor, Dr. Jeff Larkin, faculty member in the Department of Biology was honored recently by the American Ornithological Society with the Ralph W. Schreiber Conservation Award.

Dr. Larkin will be recognized for his ornithological research, contributions to the science and practice of ornithology, and service to the AOS at their annual meeting in Massachutes in August.

Dr. Travis and her class of future elementary educators took advantage of the nice weather this morning to check out the trees in the Oak Grove. They also checked out the variety of plants in the Heritage Garden by Northern Suites last week. If you haven’t been through there, it’s definitely worth a look!

Congratulations to IUP Biology Pre-medical and English major Cynthia Roldan on receiving the first annual Theresa McDevitt Women in STEAM award from the Women in STEAM student organization. This award recognizes an outstanding woman whose research demonstrates excellence, innovation, and impact across the STEAM fields. Cynthia has performed research on opioid addiction with Biology faculty member Dr. Christina Ruby.
