Through this information sharing process we hope to strengthen collaboration within the fire community in the region. Those who produce fire science as well as those interested in applying the science are all welcome in the exchange. Researchers, managers, land owners, and practitioners who work in operations are all welcome.

What influences landowners to use prescribed fire?

A new JFSP report found that social norms were a strong predictor of prescribed fire adoption—landowners may be more influenced by what they see their neighbors and communities doing than by knowledge alone.

A powerful reminder that seeing fire in action—and seeing others use it—matters.

🔥 Central Texas Prescribed Fire Field Day — September 16!

Are you a landowner, fire practitioner, or local official looking to build hands-on experience with prescribed fire?

Join West Texas Rangelands in College Station, Texas, on September 16 for a one-day Prescribed Fire Field Day focused on the practical skills and decision-making needed to plan and implement prescribed burns in Central Texas.

Participants will learn directly from experienced fire practitioners and, weather permitting, take part in an active prescribed burn—putting lessons into practice in an operational setting.
