🎧📼 Don’t forget, it's happening tomorrow! The Marx Library and Center for Academic Excellence are bringing back the 90s for our Week of Welcome celebration, “90s Rewind: The Zine Zone!”

Take a break, and swing by the Marx Library on Thursday, August 27, from 11am–2pm, to design and craft your own zine from scratch. Listen to our soundtrack packed with 90s classics, plus enjoy free snacks that'll take you straight back to the decade!

Cue the mixtape! 🎧📼 Join the Marx Library and the Center for Academic Excellence on Thursday, August 27, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm, for our 2026 Week of Welcome event, “90s Rewind: The Zine Zone!”

Create your own zine (we'll show you how!) while exploring one of the original forms of independent publishing. Long before blogs, TikTok, and Instagram, zines gave artists, activists, musicians, and fan communities a way to share ideas, build movements, and create culture on their own terms.

We'll also be spinning a playlist that'll have you singing along to “I Want It That Way,” “Wannabe,” and “Basket Case” all in the same afternoon. Grab some free retro snacks, crank up your creativity, and take a break from the college grind. No dial-up required—just good vibes and a little “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”
