A little Fisk magic in New York City. 🎶

Our Fisk Jubilee Singers® visited the renowned Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Performing Arts, where they sang alongside its student choir. Just listen to what happened when those voices came together.

Honoring a legacy, inspiring the next generation, and advancing the work of justice.

Yesterday, Fisk University celebrated the 3rd Annual Kelly Miller Smith Convocation, sponsored by the Fisk Justice Propulsion Lab, during Kelly Miller Smith Week.

Featuring acclaimed scholar and author Eddie S. Glaude Jr., this year’s convocation explored “Violence, Education, and the Child,” challenging us to consider how we prepare, protect, and empower future generations.

Members of the National Association of African American Honors Programs (NAAAHP), in Nashville for their annual conference hosted by Fisk, joined the gathering to honor the legacy of Rev. Dr. Kelly Miller Smith Sr., a Nashville pastor and civil rights leader who championed education, justice, and social change.

The legacy continues. The work moves forward.

This week, the Fisk community celebrated International Education Week, recognizing how diverse cultures, languages, and lived experiences enrich our campus and shape how we learn from one another. 🌎💙

Through Next Stop: Fisk, students traveled the world through cultural stations, collecting passport stamps while experiencing music, games, language activities, and food from different cultures.

These experiences remind us that embracing our differences broadens perspectives, builds understanding, and makes our Fisk community stronger. 💛

The future of Fisk once rested on nine voices.

Minnie Tate. Greene Evans. Isaac Dickerson. Jennie Jackson. Maggie Porter. Ella Sheppard. Thomas Rutling. Benjamin Holmes. Eliza Walker.

The original Fisk Jubilee Singers®.

155 years later, generations are still living the future they made possible.

Thank you for joining us in celebrating 155 years of excellence, sacrifice, perseverance, and legacy.

From the timeless voices of the Jubilee Singers and the heartfelt words of Earnest Gibson III class of ’05 and our other honored guests to the Jubilee pilgrimage, today was a beautiful reminder of the legacy we inherit and the responsibility we carry forward.

Another beautiful chapter in Fisk history.

May her sons and daughters live forever on the Altar. 💙💛
