U of NEA is a club for Aspiring Educators and any students attending the University of Nevada, Reno. Friends, Fun, and your Future! Come join us!

Our goal is to connect Aspiring Educators with one another, then with future colleagues and the Nevada State Education Association. We host fun social events, community outreach events, and plan Professional Leadership Learning opportunities for UNR College of Education and Human Development students.

Just last week, during NevadaFit, our very own Treasurer, Tariq Washington, spoke to all Fit2Care (COEHD) participants about what we are about and ways they can get involved in their local union on campus. YOU (🫵🫵) can learn this very same info at Associated Students of the University of Nevada 's Club Fair, on Thursday, Aug 27th, 4-7pm! Hope to see you there!

This summer, 3 Nevada Aspiring Educators that hail from our chapter got the opportunity to attend the 2026 NEA Aspiring Educators Conference in Denver, CO. Traveling with our new AE Liaison Chris Daly and NSEA President Dawn Etcheverry, every attendee got the opportunity to gain organizing skills to make our chapters and causes stronger, in collaboration with other AEs from all over the country ❤️

Thank you to Tariq Washington and Luis Galvez for volunteering themselves for this opportunity. We'll return stronger in the fall!

To wrap up and to celebrate the beginnings of National Reading Month, our president booked an adventure (😉) to Galena Creek Regional Park to refill our Little Free Library. 💙 Thank you to everyone who has donated a book, or taken a book from here. Keep reading 📖✨.

Our Monthly workshops are back! Unions are stronger when they foster community, so come and talk about your experiences as an aspiring educator while keeping your hands busy creating bookmarks for National Reading Month. This event will be taking place on Wednesday, March 11th from 10-11am in the Learning Resource Center (LRC), which is on the first floor of the William J. Raggio building. Of course, we will provide breakfast snacks and materials, and this event is open to all. Can't wait to see you there! 🗣️📚💙

Well… you’re in luck, because we are holding open officer nominations and elections. To nominate yourself, follow the link in our bio OR scan the QR to fill out the Google Form, then attend our open election process on Wednesday, December 10th at 6:30pm in the Learning Resource Center (LRC) on the 1st floor of the William J. UPDATED OPEN MEETING SCHEDULE: Please note that our open meets for Nov. 19th & Dec. 3rd have been cancelled.
