Shout out to Reagan, one of our Advanced Drawing students, and her amazing portrait! She is a junior in our BFA Studio Art program.

"My new portrait series explores human emotion, specifically the fear of an uncertain future.

I connect the viewer to this emotive experience through asymmetrical composition and a detailed account of the muscular facial tension exhibited by my subjects. To support these objectives, I use vine and compressed charcoal which provide exacting control of values, texture, and depth within each portrait. This approach enables me to utilize a range of techniques and layers that produce a realistic interpretation of the human figure. "
