St Mark's College provides a supportive and stimulating environment where students pursue their optimum academic achievement.

St Mark's is a world-class university residential college in North Adelaide which provides students with a complete university experience in a safe, inclusive environment. While aiming at the pursuit of excellence in specific fields of study at university, the College also promotes amongst its members a love of learning, and a critical approach to issues. The primary aims of collegiate life at St Mark's are to help engender in College members a strong sense of the responsibilities and rights of individuals living in a community with others, and to instil in them an equally strong sense of commitment to the common good of our community. The College encourages its members to participate in the cultural, spiritual, social and sporting events arranged by the student leaders, and values the contributions members make to the life of the College through that participation. By providing an atmosphere in which students are accepted as mature and self-responsible, St Mark's aims to make a student's stay at College a fun, enjoyable, intellectual, and maturing experience. St Mark's is located in North Adelaide and has rooms for just over 230 students and student numbers are divided equally between males and females.

A big congratulations to all those who exhibited work in the 2026 Academic Showcase and Marksenfeast Exhibition on Wednesday evening! 🎓🎨

It was great to see such a great diversity of high-quality academic and creative works on display, including dentistry models, geological maps, oil paintings, essays, hand-painted mini-figures, scientific posters, and biological samples. Thank you also to everyone who turned up to view and vote for your favourites, and well done to the category winners:

People's Choice, Academic: Ewan Keith, a collection of local satellite maps.
People's Choice, Creative: Maddy Baxter, a portrait painting.

Judges' Prize, Academic: Andie Hallgath, forensic report and associated evidence photographs.
Judges' Prize, Creative: Elias Drakopoulos, hand-painted minifigures.

DoL/SAT Award: Keala Hayes, an article on the pink tax and other costs applied only to women.
DoL/SAT Award: Ava Gelman, physiology posters on the heart and digestive system.

Behind every great festival is a team who made it happen.

Every year, the St Mark’s College Club Committee takes on the challenge of turning our grounds into Marksenfest, Adelaide’s largest student-run music festival, welcoming more than 1,300 guests to campus.

From booking national acts and championing local and emerging artists to managing budgets, logistics, marketing and merchandise, the Committee runs it all. The event provides Committee members with real-world experience in event management, promotion, communication and leadership, developed through months of planning and teamwork.

Marksenfest takes place on Saturday 17 October and is on track to sell out!

Congratulations to the Committee on all your hard work. It’s going to be a wonderful day!

On Sunday the 20th of September students visited Roseworthy College (Adelaide University) for a few friendly rounds of touch football, an egg-and-spoon race, free Yiros, and a cozy campfire!

Here at St Mark’s College, we are dedicated to providing our students with growth opportunities, which is why we were delighted to have Donny Walford join us as our special guest at Formal Hall this week and to provide a development session in the ballroom.

Donny engaged with students in an interactive session about personal branding and the importance of building relationships. Drawing on her extensive experience coaching and mentoring top business leaders and entrepreneurs, Donny delivered a practical, no-nonsense session which inspired the students who are preparing for future careers. Donny’s advice and practical guidance was acknowledged with warm applause and much gratitude. St Mark’s College is a proud partner with behind closed doors and Bottomline.

Students were also delighted to meet the newly appointed Head of St Mark’s College, Ms Anna Owen, who joined the session while visiting the College. Anna commences in her new role in 2027.

During Welcome Back week, the College hosted a very special screening of the acclaimed documentary, We Are Not Powerless, which was followed by an extraordinary Q&A with the directors, Jolyon Hoff and Muzafar Ali, as well as Nagina Zahra and Mohammed Ali, who feature in the film. As those who attended will no doubt attest, it was a very powerful film and moving event.

After more than 50 screenings around Australia, there will be a few special screenings and Q&A this weekend.

At the start of September, St Mark’s hosted the 2026 Business and Law Faculty Evening. We were joined by Senior Financial Advisor Matt Boyd; St Mark’s Business Manager Janet Hayes; PwC Senior Associate Anubhav Aror; Solicitors Edwina Page and Georgia Taylor; and Marketing Coordinator Chris Neil.

The evening gave our students a fantastic opportunity to meet our guests over canapés and dinner, before a Q&A later in the night. Topics included Artificial Intelligence, standing out as a recent graduate, and how to determine if a job is right for you.

Thank you to our wonderful guests for attending, and to Business and Law Academic Coordinator Paige Jessop for a fantastic evening.

Soccer is always a favourite at St Mark's in the High Table Cup Inter-College competition. With just a few sports left in the comp, the crowd was electric, cheering on our men's and women's teams.

Congrats to the men's team for taking first place, and the women's team for third! 🥉🥇

Sport takes a short break over mid-semester, but returns in October with table tennis and the athletics finale.

We are lucky to have students from cultures all around the world living at St Mark’s College.

It was so wonderful to celebrate and learn about these cultures at our inaugural Multicultural Night, organised by students Lianna and Zoe.

Students hosted stalls featuring posters and interesting facts about their cultures, as well as giving presentations and sharing their traditions with fellow collegians. The kitchen also prepared a special buffet menu featuring delicious foods from a range of different cuisines.
