The collections can be viewed upon request in the Reading Room in Fisher Library. It's open to all staff and students, and a free community membership is available for the public.

Anton Levings, a Bachelor of Music (Digital Music Composition) student at The Sydney Conservatorium of Music, composed the score for the 'Degrees For Good' campaign for the University of Sydney.

Asked about his creative process, Anton said "it sort of Inspires this level of hope. This degree, actually, it means something very powerful in the real world”.

First Nations knowledge and new technology are coming together to help locate Aboriginal cultural heritage sites in the Blue Mountains.

Working alongside the Dharug Custodian Aboriginal Corporation -DCAC, University of Sydney and Australian Museum researchers have used drone-based LiDAR technology to identify three previously unregistered Aboriginal rock shelters containing rock art and stone artefacts.

“This work is exciting because it offers an efficient and accurate way to locate sites in rugged environments, which are notoriously arduous, expensive and time-consuming to survey,” said Dr Jacob Bongers, lead author on the drone research and a digital archaeologist at the University of Sydney.

The work is part of the Gulamada Project, which brings First Nations cultural knowledge and scientific research together to better understand and care for Country. Dharug cultural heritage experts Wayne Brennan and Erin Wilkins led the recording of rock art at confirmed sites.

We’re delighted to welcome Rt Hon Dame Jacinda Ardern to the University of Sydney as a Professor of Practice.

The former Prime Minister of New Zealand will work with our students and researchers on empathetic leadership, civic trust and global health challenges, through guest lectures, masterclasses and mentoring.

Based in the Sydney School of Public Health, she’ll collaborate with the Sydney Policy Lab and the Vice-Chancellor’s office on University wide initiatives.
