We are the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at The University of Hong Kong (HKU).

The Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at The University of Hong Kong was established in 1961. The department has a world-wide reputation in clinical service, teaching, and research. As part of the Faculty of Medicine, it provides undergraduate teaching for medical students, post-graduate courses in medical sciences and carries out research in clinical and basic science related to orthopaedics. As a part of the Hospital Authority, the department serves a major portion of the population of Hong Kong and provides post-graduate speciality training for surgeons.

From lecture to hands-on lab 🔬🤖

The HA CCTP 2026/27 Robotic-Assisted Spine Surgery: Hands-On Specimen Course brought together orthopaedic surgeons for a full day of expert-led lectures and cadaveric training focused on the latest robotic spine surgery techniques.

A highlight of the programme was welcoming overseas speakers Prof. Jacob Oh and Prof. Luthfi Gatam, who shared valuable insights and practical experience in robotic-assisted spine surgery.
