【Happy Retirement, Professor Lu! 】
Congratulations to Professor William Lu on his retirement and his appointment as Honorary Professor of the Department of Orthopaedics & Traumatology and Emeritus Professor of the University of Hong Kong.
Over more than 30 years of dedicated service, Professor Lu has made an extraordinary impact through his leadership, research, innovation, and mentorship. Since joining the Department in 1995, he has been a driving force in advancing scientific discovery, translating research into real-world solutions, and nurturing generations of students and researchers.
With more than 420 research publications, 10 books, four spin-off companies, and over 70 students and fellows mentored throughout his career, Professor Lu's achievements are truly remarkable. Yet beyond these accomplishments, he is known and respected as a caring teacher, trusted mentor, valued colleague, and dear friend.
As we celebrate his exceptional contributions and lasting legacy, we also look forward to his continued guidance in his new roles. Thank you, Professor Lu, for your unwavering dedication, wisdom, and inspiration over the past three decades.
