🎓 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞

A heartwarming reunion luncheon brought together around 120 alumni, faculty members, students, and friends of the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (𝐃𝐀𝐎) on campus last weekend. The gathering was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect, celebrate shared memories, and strengthen the bonds that unite our vibrant alumni community.

A highlight of the event was the welcoming remarks by Andy Li, 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 9𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧𝐢 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐃𝐀𝐎𝐀𝐀) and Head of Corporate Banking at Fusion Bank. Andy reflected on the remarkable achievements of DAO alumni across industries, the Department’s growth and transformation since its establishment, announcement of the introduction to the DAOAA Scholarship Scheme, and the invaluable contributions of alumni and supporters whose generosity continues to drive the Department forward. The occasion also featured a meaningful Souvenir Presentation Ceremony honouring retiring professors for their dedication and lasting impact on generations of students.

Afterwards, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐞𝐢 𝐆𝐮𝐨, 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐀𝐎, shared updates on the Department’s latest developments and strategic initiatives, while 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐡𝐮𝐦, 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, highlighted the College’s recent achievements and growing influence in Asia, underscoring its vision to “𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭”.

Beyond the inspiring talks, the reunion luncheon brought together alumni spanning multiple generations, including those who graduated in the 1990s, reflecting the strong and lasting connections that continue to unite the DAO family. After the luncheon, student helpers guided alumni on a campus tour, offering an opportunity to revisit cherished memories while discovering the University's latest developments. Many alumni were impressed by the modern facilities and enriched learning environment enjoyed by today’s students, recalling how far the University has come over the years. 🏛️

🎉 Happy Back-to-School! What an intensive week for our inbound exchange students! 🌏✈️

Over the intensive and engaging week, nearly 300 inbound exchange students immersed themselves in a vibrant series of orientation activities designed to help them settle into academic life, connect with fellow peers, get ready for the start of Semester A 2026/27, and begin exploring all that Hong Kong has to offer.

With the strong support of the Exchange Student Club (ESC), from engaging orientation sessions to the bustling Welcome Corner, students from 115 partner universities across 30 countries and regions had countless opportunities to make new friends, seek advice, sign up for activities, and experience the warm and inclusive community that defines the College of Business. The energy and enthusiasm throughout the week transformed the campus into a true global meeting point.

The celebrations culminated in a memorable cultural excursion to Lantau Island, where students explored the majestic Big Buddha and discovered the unique charm of the historic fishing village of Tai O.

As shared by David from the University of Mannheim, "Trip was great, great opportunity to learn more about Hong Kong and its cultural parts. Very interesting to see how different it was than living in the central parts of Hong Kong."

Hyun from Sungkyunkwan University also reflected, "The trip organised by CB was really great. It gave me a good opportunity to become closer with other exchange students."

We are glad to see our exchange students embark on this exciting chapter and look forward to the friendships, learning experiences, and unforgettable memories they will create at CityUHK and beyond. 💙

🎉 Bringing our MBA community together: a memorable weekend of reconnection, inspiration and upskilling in Shenzhen!

✨ We were delighted to welcome College of Business alumni from different cohorts, industries, and regions to the CityUHK MBA Alumni Summer Reunion Luncheon in Shenzhen. The reunion was graciously opened by Professor Stephen Shum, Dean of College of Business ,whose warm welcome set the tone for an inspiring afternoon of networking and knowledge sharing.

The gathering provided a wonderful opportunity for CB alumni to expand their professional networks, exchange ideas on the latest AI trends, and strengthen their ties with the CityUHK College of Business community.

A key highlight of the event was the inspiring keynote sharing by Professor Jack Lau on "Building the Next Unicorn & Navigating the AI Talent Market." Prof. Lau encouraged alumni to embrace the opportunities of the AI era, challenging business leaders to move beyond simply using AI to becoming creators, innovators, and builders of AI-driven solutions. 🤖

The reunion also provided alumni with updates on the College's latest initiatives and lifelong learning opportunities designed to support their continued professional growth.
