🎓 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞
A heartwarming reunion luncheon brought together around 120 alumni, faculty members, students, and friends of the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (𝐃𝐀𝐎) on campus last weekend. The gathering was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect, celebrate shared memories, and strengthen the bonds that unite our vibrant alumni community.
A highlight of the event was the welcoming remarks by Andy Li, 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 9𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧𝐢 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐃𝐀𝐎𝐀𝐀) and Head of Corporate Banking at Fusion Bank. Andy reflected on the remarkable achievements of DAO alumni across industries, the Department’s growth and transformation since its establishment, announcement of the introduction to the DAOAA Scholarship Scheme, and the invaluable contributions of alumni and supporters whose generosity continues to drive the Department forward. The occasion also featured a meaningful Souvenir Presentation Ceremony honouring retiring professors for their dedication and lasting impact on generations of students.
Afterwards, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐞𝐢 𝐆𝐮𝐨, 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐀𝐎, shared updates on the Department’s latest developments and strategic initiatives, while 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐡𝐮𝐦, 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, highlighted the College’s recent achievements and growing influence in Asia, underscoring its vision to “𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭”.
Beyond the inspiring talks, the reunion luncheon brought together alumni spanning multiple generations, including those who graduated in the 1990s, reflecting the strong and lasting connections that continue to unite the DAO family. After the luncheon, student helpers guided alumni on a campus tour, offering an opportunity to revisit cherished memories while discovering the University's latest developments. Many alumni were impressed by the modern facilities and enriched learning environment enjoyed by today’s students, recalling how far the University has come over the years. 🏛️
