Congratulations to Professor Zhu Yuntian for receiving the Second Prize in the State Natural Science Award for his research on "Strengthening and Toughening of Heterostructured Metallic Materials." 🎉

🎉 Great News! Exceptional Results in RGC GRF & ECS 2026–27 🎉

We are thrilled to announce that faculty members from the College of Engineering have secured 67 grants totaling over HK$58.82M in the latest Research Grants Council (RGC) General Research Fund (GRF) and Early Career Scheme (ECS) exercise! 👏

📊 Funding Highlights:
• GRF: 55 proposals | HK$49.93M • ECS: 12 proposals | HK$8.88M

🏆 Discipline Standouts:
✨ 1st among all 8 sister institutions in success rate, total number of grants, and total funding secured for Electrical & Electronic Engineering!

✨ Ranked 2nd across all institutions in the overall Engineering Panel and Mechanical, Production & Industrial Engineering.

✨ Ranked 3rd in Civil Engineering, Surveying, Building & Construction and Computer Science & Information Technology.

✨ Achieved an impressive 60% success rate for ECS in Mechanical, Production & Industrial Engineering.

【 ：Waste heat to power! CityUHK team breaks through in organic photovoltaics 🚀】

⚡The "energy traps" in organic photovoltaics — spin-triplet excitons — have long been lost as heat, unable to generate electricity. Professor Alex Jen's team has broken a decade-long bottleneck, “turned waste into treasure” by recycling these excitons into usable charge carriers, achieving 20.5% power conversion efficiency!

Two breakthroughs:
🔬 Triplet excitons re-dissociate into free charge carriers
📈 Lab efficiency has surpassed 21%, paving the way for next-gen photovoltaics

Published in Nature, bringing new hope for clean energy! 🌿

【Stand Out & Get Hired: Career Toolkit Series】

We are thrilled to celebrate the successful completion of our Stand Out & Get Hired: Career Toolkit Series, an initiative designed to give our Class of 2026 College of Engineering (CENG) graduates a competitive edge.

We invited Ms. Ino Jiu, a Senior HR & Career Expert with 30+ years of executive experience at global corporations like J.P. Morgan, BNP Paribas, and Natixis.

Adopting a small-group, highly interactive approach, the series combined strategic teaching with 1-1 coaching:
• Workshop 1: Crafting Your Career Story – From Standout CV to LinkedIn Impact
• Workshop 2: Master Interviews, Build Your Brand & Network Like a Professional

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive! Thanks to this interactive setup, graduates walked away with customized, actionable feedback on their own CVs and interview answers, empowering them to pitch their expertise with clarity and impact.

✅ 除了「公民與社會發展」科目外，同學只有一個HKDSE科目成績低於課程入學要求一個級別
✅ 同學的課程入學分數高於該課程上屆聯招加權後的錄取分數之中位數

✅ 相關課程的評估表現良好

JUPAS applicants who attain excellent overall results in HKDSE but slightly fall short of the programme entrance requirements may still be considered for admission 😉

✅ only one HKDSE subject (core or elective subjects), except "Citizenship and Social Development", graded below the minimum programme entrance requirements by one level
✅ an admission score higher than the weighted median admission score of the respective programme in the previous admission exercise
✅ Band A programmes
✅ good assessment performance for the programme(s) concerned

🙆🏻‍♀️🙆🏻Additionally, local JUPAS applicants admitted under the flexible admission arrangements may also receive a scholarship if their HKDSE results meet the criteria for the CityUHK Scholarships 😆👏🏻
