【 #城大焦點：城大研究團隊揭果糖抑肝癌新機制 🧬】
🍬 果糖常被視為健康的「反派」，但 #城大 生物醫學科學系尹慧勇教授及仲珊珊教授團隊發現，在特定的肝癌代謝狀態下，果糖非但不會助長腫瘤，反而能抑制其生長！ 🤯 團隊更發現，現有藥物「依布硒（ebselen）」具備同樣抑癌機制，並可與標靶藥索拉非尼產生協同效應。

【 : CityUHK team uncovers fructose's anti-liver cancer mechanism 🧬】
🍬 Fructose is often cast as the "bad guy" of nutrition. But a research team led by Professor Yin Huiyong and Professor Zhong Shanshan from has found that in a specific liver cancer metabolic state, fructose doesn't fuel tumours. Instead, it suppresses them! 🤯
The team also discovered that the existing drug ebselen shares this anti-cancer mechanism and works synergistically with the targeted therapy sorafenib.
Key findings:
💡 Dietary fructose significantly suppresses liver tumour growth
🧫 Identifies the F1P–MPI anti-cancer pathway and identifies ebselen as a promising drug candidate
