๐โจ HKBU Students Take Seoul: Innovation, Culture & Sustainability โจ๐ฟ
From 21โ27 June 2026, a group of students from HKBUโs Extended Study Programme, guided by the International Office and Professor PARK Keonyoung, embarked on a weekโlong odyssey through South Korea โ where academia met adventure and global engagement came alive.
๐ The pinnacle of the trip unfolded at the Ban Kiโmoon Peace Museum & Park. Students were profoundly moved by Mr. BAN Kiโmoonโs inspiring speech and honored to be formally received by Mr. PAK Yilโho, Head of Administration, and Mr. LEE Byungโyong, Head of Planning and Policy. This defining moment underscored their responsibilities as global changemakers, reinforced through immersive climate workshops and simulations.
๐ At Ewha Womans University, they plunged into the world of sustainability, exploring CSR and UN SDGs before transforming insights into bold, creative shortโform storytelling.
๐ค At the Samsung Innovation Museum, they stepped into the future to experience AI, smart ecosystems, and mobile technologies that are redefining human connection.
๐ผ Encounters with Chinese entrepreneurs, alongside visits to China Southern Airlines & Yunda Express, unlocked fresh perspectives on global entrepreneurship and integration.
๐ค From citizenโdriven innovation at the Hope Institute to the dazzling influence of Kโpop and Korean TV, including SM Universe and Arirang TV, students experienced Koreaโs soft power radiating worldwide. Professor HAN Oul of Sogang University capped the journey with a thoughtโprovoking dinner lecture, tying it all together.
๐ฏ Strolling through Bukchon Hanok Village & Gyeongbokgung Palace, students witnessed how heritage and modernity elegantly intertwine through sustainable urban preservation.
This was far more than a study trip. It was a journey of vision, voice, and purpose. Students returned inspired to shape a more sustainable, connected, and collaborative future. ๐
