🕵️ Celebrating the completion of our Forensics Camp last week! 🕵️

Students explored the fascinating world of criminal justice and forensic science through hands-on activities and career exploration opportunities.

Campers worked with Criminal Justice Professor Chris Barber in Sandburg's crime lab, learning fingerprinting and ballistics techniques while gaining insight into careers in the field. Students also toured the Jail with the Knox County Sheriff's Office, where they learned firsthand about careers in law enforcement.

👏 Thank you to Chris Barber, the Knox County Sheriff's Office, and everyone who helped make this week a success. We're proud of all the students who brought their curiosity and investigative skills to camp!

🎉 Celebrating the final day of our first Taking Back the Trades Camp this summer! 🎉

What an incredible week of STEM Camp it has been! Our students dove into the world of technology and innovation through hands-on experiences in AI and robotics, while also earning Digital Literacy Badges as part of this camp’s industry-recognized certification.

Throughout the week, campers explored exciting pathways in Sandburg’s Information Technology & Cyber Security AAS program, toured campus, and heard directly from Sandburg’s IT professionals about real-world careers in the field.

We also had the opportunity to visit the Galesburg Public Library for our employer site visit, where students learned from their IT team and saw firsthand how technology powers community resources.

👏 We are so proud of the curiosity, creativity, and growth our students demonstrated all week long. A huge thank you to our partners, presenters, and staff who made this experience possible!

Stay tuned next week to see our next Taking Back the Trades Camp unfold as our students explore the world of criminal justice with Forensics Camp!
