The mission of the Rowan Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies will be to serve as the focal point for students, faculty, educators, and the regional community in learning the history and lessons of the Holocaust, as well as broader issues related to genocide over time and across space. Through innovative educational programming the Center will study and investigate issues such as the consequences of anti-Semitism, racism, ethnic hatred, other forms of bigotry, and human rights. Specifically, the Rowan Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies will:
•Promote greater awareness of the Holocaust and other genocides through special activities such as symposia, lectures, and other programs.

•Educate teachers and future generations by providing workshops and seminars to train those teaching the Holocaust and other past and contemporary genocides.

•Study the Holocaust and other genocides by fostering academic research and by serving as a repository for relevant materials including oral histories.

•Develop sensitivity and understanding through imparting knowledge and coordinating activities intended to combat antisemitism, racism, hatred and oppression.
