In late March, UT welcomed an international delegation of science counselors and attachés from across Europe, advancing its role as a global hub for research collaboration and science diplomacy 🇪🇺

Hosted by UT Global's office of Global Research, Innovation, & Partnerships (GRIP), the delegation brought together senior science diplomacy leaders representing 12 countries and organizations, along with the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA).

The visit created a high-level platform to align research priorities, deepen institutional partnerships, and explore new pathways for international funding and collaboration.

Tianyi Chen, Shiyi Du, Weiqi Li, and Yuchen Yang are wrapping up their undergraduate degree from Tombras School of Advertising & Public Relations in the College of Communication and Information (CCI) after starting their academic careers at Liaoning University (LNU) in Shenyang, China.

The students enjoyed their time here at UT and called it "eye opening," stating that they noticed the differences in teaching styles, relationships between students and staff, class schedules and general culture.

All of the students plan to attend graduate school and search for internships for the upcoming year. We wish them the best of luck!

Two second-year, Political Science students, Nicholas Heisig and Nathan Surdej, turned a final class project into a weekly podcast and the future trip of a lifetime.

Heisig and Surdej met in a comparative politics class last year. For the final project they put together a 40-minue podcast comparing Botswana’s governmental success to lower functioning governments in the surrounding areas of southern Africa.

Heisig and Surdej are scheduled to graduate in May 2027 and have plans to travel to Botswana to expand on what they have learned in the classroom 🇧🇼
