Travel to Austria with K-State Music and Architectural Engineering faculty members next August!

Students will explore Austria's rich musical and cultural heritage through immersive experiences in Vienna, Salzburg, Bregenz, and Innsbruck. The program combines attendance at world-class performances with guided study of historic and contemporary architecture, allowing students to examine the connections between music, culture, history, and the built environment. Through concerts, site visits, and reflective assignments, participants will gain a deeper understanding of Austria's lasting influence on the arts.

There are also several non-auditioned ensembles with open enrollment. There’s a place for EVERY K-State student to sing at K-State School of Music, Theatre, and Dance!

Kozisek Places 2nd in National Singing Competition

Junior Grant Kozisek of Leawood, KS was awarded Second Place in the Commercial Music category at the 2026 National Association Teachers of Singing (NATS) National Student Auditions (NSA) held in San Antonio, Texas. Grant advanced to the NSA after earning first-place honors in both the Kansas NATS Student Auditions and the NATS West Central Region Auditions, qualifying him to compete at the national level.

This outstanding achievement reflects Grant’s exceptional artistry, dedication, and commitment to excellence. Grant will begin his junior year this coming fall and is majoring in Theatre, Communication Studies and Philosophy. Grant is the voice student of Cheryl Richt.

The NATS National Student Auditions represents one of the highest levels of collegiate vocal competition in the United States, bringing together top performers who have advanced through multiple rounds of regional competition.
