That moment when you're thinking 🤔
YOU RECORDED A VIDEO IN CANVAS STUDIO. NOW WHAT?

Have you recorded in Canvas Studio but lacked time to complete your edits? Have you ever restarted because editing felt more difficult than rerecording?

This session picks up after you stop your recording. We’ll show a downloadable editor that's already connected to the recorder in Canvas Studio. You can take the recording into the app (or record using the app), edit it, and upload the finished file back to Canvas Studio. We will also review existing resources that simplify video editing for everyone.

Join us in this session if you make course videos and want a clear next step after recording.

Objectives:

1. Describe how the recorder in Canvas Studio relates to the downloadable ScreenPal app.

2. Locate and download the ScreenPal app.

3. Determine when to make edits using the Screen-Cast-O-Matic (in Canvas Studio) editor versus the ScreenPal app.

4. Evaluate a revised video and decide whether it is ready to return to Canvas Studio or needs further editing.

5. Create an edited version of a recorded video in ScreenPal and upload the finished file to Canvas Studio.

Our second session of CANVAS ACCESSIBILITY, SIMPLIFIED: MASTERING THE CORE FOUR (STRUCTURE, MEDIA, LINKS & TABLES) starts at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon!

You know accessibility matters in your courses, but where should you start?

As you build courses with accessibility in mind, you can implement key practices by keeping a few components in mind without feeling overwhelmed. Dr. Melony Shemberger, Professor of Journalism and Mass Communications who is certified in several Canvas Certified Programs and assists other educators in Canvas course accessibility, will walk you through structure, images, media, links and tables — the primary accessibility areas to watch when designing your course in Canvas.

Objectives:

By the end of this session, you will be able to do the following:

*Structure content using heading levels, lists and color properly.
*Include alt-text for images and closed captioning for videos or transcripts for audio files.
*Use hyperlinks to minimize exposed URLs.
*Ensure tables are used for data, rather than layout.
