Check out this Native News!

"Choctaw Travel Plaza Raises Over $40,000 for Newly Launched Scholarship Funds - Choctaw Travel Plaza partnered with Coca-Cola to seed the fund, which will help send local Choctaw tribal students to college or trade school. Over the summer, travelers bought approximately 9,000 commemorative cups to help raise $21,000. The Chahta Foundation, Choctaw Nation's non-profit organization, matched the fund to bring the total to $42,000."

Our CSN student leaders have been busy this summer! Check out this "Summer in Review" for Cherokee Citizen and OSU Senior, Kinsee Burkett!

Kinsee was a Teaching Assistant Intern for the Choctaw Nation POSSE Program in Durant, Oklahoma! She helped lead a third-grade summer school class. She did a variety of tasks such as teaching lessons and leading class games. In the afternoon, she took a combined group through various specials such as art, music, games, STEM, creative writing, and computers.

A memorable moment for her was at the end-of-summer Intern Showcase, where she was recognized for serving as an intern for the 3rd year in a row. She was one of two who had served that long! She was gifted a cart full of goodies to help her get a head start on her future classroom!
