UCT × Culture Foundry 🤝

We were honoured to welcome Culture Foundry back to our Postgrad Marketing classroom, and yes, their co-founder is a UCT alum, so we’re a little biased 😉

The team gave our students an inside look at their world: real projects, real insight, and a look at what it takes to work with brands through qualitative research and culture. It was the kind of session that turns theory into “oh, THIS is how it actually works.”

And there’s more coming. We’re teaming up with Culture Foundry on a student project that brings industry straight into the classroom.

Undergrad. Masters. PhD. All at the same university.

Meet Assoc. Prof. James Lappeman, Head of Section: Marketing at UCT’s School of Management Studies, and the man behind our Postgraduate Diploma in Management in Marketing.

He’s taught marketing for years, works closely with industry through the UCT Liberty Institute, and still gets genuinely excited about the subject. That’s the kind of person you want teaching you.

Open to all undergrad backgrounds, not just commerce grads. Applications close 30 September, link in bio to apply.

Career journeys don’t follow straight lines, and our PASS team proved it. 💬

Recently, Commerce PASS staff got together to share the twists, turns, and lessons that shaped their paths at UCT. Real stories, real reflection, and a room full of people cheering each other on.

Sometimes the best development sessions aren’t about new skills. They’re about remembering why you started.

We’re playing our part.

This Safe Sport Day, our team at SOMS took the pledge to help make sport safer, more inclusive, and free from harm, for everyone.

Because safe sport isn’t just an athlete’s responsibility. It’s all of ours.
