Cameras out, stories flowing: SAADP came through UCT recently and it was a whole vibe.

We sat down with Dr Sure Mataramvura, UCT Programme Manager Carmelita Lee Shong, and SAADP bursary recipient Uyanda Makhoba to hear what this bursary really means on the ground. Then our SAADP students got to do something even better: meet alumni who were once exactly where they are now, actuarial science students figuring it all out.

Full circle moments like this are why we do this work. Tag a future actuary who needs to see this, and drop a 🎓 if you know exactly what that room felt like.

“Marketing is just social media and creativity” - is it though?

Assoc. Prof. James Lappeman, Head of Section at UCT’s School of Management Studies, busts one of the biggest myths about marketing: it’s not just the fun, visible stuff. It’s spreadsheets. It’s numbers. It’s research. It’s strategy. It’s leadership.

Because you can’t manage a billion rand brand if you can’t read a spreadsheet.

That’s exactly what’s built into our marketing curriculum. If you’re serious about a career in marketing, the Postgraduate Diploma in Management in Marketing is open to all undergrad backgrounds. Applications close 30 September, link in bio.
