教大在10月23日於香港會展中心舉行「香港教育大學正名十周年晚宴」，以「十載輝煌，教育未來」為主題，吸引逾600位嘉賓到場，包括香港特別行政區政府（香港特區政府）及外交部駐港特派員公署代表；教育界領袖、社會賢達、教大校董會成員、管理層、教職員、學生及校友，共同慶祝教大過去十年的蛻變成長與卓越成就。

EdUHK Holds 10th Anniversary Retitling Banquet:
A Decade of Excellence, A New Chapter for the Future of Education

EdUHK hosted its 10th Anniversary Retitling Banquet of EdUHK at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 23 October, under the theme “A Decade of Excellence, A New Chapter for the Future of Education.”

More than 600 guests, including representatives from the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the HKSAR (OCMFA), leaders from the education sector, dignitaries and community figures, as well as EdUHK Council members, senior management, faculty, students and alumni, gathered to celebrate EdUHK’s decade of transformation and achievement.

教大舉行榮譽博士及榮譽院士頒授典禮

教大在10月22日於大埔校園舉行榮譽博士學位及榮譽院士銜頒授典禮。典禮由教大校董會主席黃友嘉博士主持，向七位傑出人士頒授三項榮譽博士學位及四項榮譽院士銜，以表彰他們在推動教育事業發展及服務社會方面的卓越貢獻。

EdUHK Holds Honorary Doctorate and Honorary Fellowship Conferment Ceremony

EdUHK held the Honorary Doctorate and Honorary Fellowship Conferment Ceremony at its Tai Po campus on 22 October. Officiated by EdUHK Council Chairman Dr David Wong Yau-kar, the ceremony conferred three honorary doctorates and four honorary fellowships on seven distinguished individuals, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the advancement of education and service to the society.

教大歡迎行政長官再度委任黃友嘉博士，GBS，JP，續任校董會主席，任期由2027年1月1日起，為期一年。

EdUHK Welcomes Reappointment of Council Chairman

EdUHK welcomes the Chief Executive’s reappointment of Dr David Wong Yau-kar, GBS, JP, as Council Chairman for a one-year term commencing on 1 January 2027.

Dr Wong remarked, “I am honoured to be reappointed as Chairman of the Council and grateful for the Chief Executive’s trust. I also wish to thank Council members, the University’s management, staff, students and alumni for their steadfast support and dedication to EdUHK. I look forward to continue working closely with the Council and the University community to further advance EdUHK’s development, uphold sound governance, and foster excellence in education and research. Together, we will build on the University’s strengths and contribute to the advancement of education in Hong Kong and beyond.”

李子建教授獲續任為教大校長

教大校董會今日通過李子建教授續任校長的決定。新任期將於2028年9月1日生效，為期五年。

校董會於六月成立特別委員會，就校長續任事宜展開廣泛諮詢。委員會整理校內持份者意見後，向校董會提交建議，最終經校董會通過相關決定。

Re-appointment of Professor John Lee Chi-Kin as EdUHK President

The Council of EdUHK approved today the re-appointment of Professor John Lee Chi-Kin as its President for another five-year term, effective 1 September 2028.

The decision was made after thorough discussions of the recommendation made by an ad hoc committee set up by the Council in June, with reference made to comments and views consolidated during an extensive consultation exercise within the University community.

73 EdUHK Scholars Named Among World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University
Setting a New Record

EdUHK is pleased to announce that 73 scholars have been listed in the World’s Top 2% Scientists 2026 compiled by Stanford University, representing an increase of over 30% compared to last year and marking a new record high. Among them, 41 scholars were ranked within the world’s top 1%, underscoring the University’s growing research strength, academic excellence and international recognition.

【Congratulations】EdUHK Alumnus Named Among “The Ten Outstanding Young Persons” 🎉

EdUHK Alumnus Mr Yeung Yui-Sheung has been named among the Ten Outstanding Young Persons 2026 by the Junior Chamber International Hong Kong, China.

Alumnus Yeung founded and continues to lead a running club that has, over the years, provided free training opportunities for students and individuals in need. Through sports education, he has inspired and supported the growth of young people, instilling in them the values of perseverance, initiative, and the pursuit of excellence.

2026-2027 Academic Year: 14 Professors Join EdUHK to Advance Global Academic Reach

At the outset of the 2026/27 academic year, EdUHK welcomes a distinguished cohort of international scholars, including 14 professors with teaching and research experience at leading universities in Europe and Asia.

The new appointments span a wide range of disciplines, including language and education, social sciences and policy, health and sport sciences, technology and engineering, special and inclusive education, psychology and interdisciplinary studies. Each has achieved distinction in their field, and their arrival is expected to inject fresh energy into the campus while strengthening EdUHK’s global academic profile.

教大健兒揚威第20屆亞運　
勇奪15獎牌　展現雙軌發展成果

第20屆愛知名古屋亞運會圓滿落幕。今年共有47位教大學生運動員及校友代表中國香港參賽，表現卓越。除在男子輕量級單人雙槳艇及男子七人欖球賽事奪得金牌外，他們在女子欖球、單車、空手道、武術、乒乓球、體操等亦大放異彩，合共在15個項目中勇奪兩金、三銀以及10銅的佳績；而有參與男子七人欖球賽並奪金的李卡度同學，更榮幸成為亞運閉幕禮上的持旗手。

EdUHK Athletes Clinch 15 Medals at 20th Asian Games
Demonstrating Dual Career Excellence

The 20th Asian Games in Aichi–Nagoya have successfully concluded, with 47 student athletes and alumni from EdUHK representing Hong Kong, China and delivering outstanding performances. In addition to gold medals in Men’s Lightweight Single Sculls and Men’s Rugby Sevens, EdUHK athletes excelled in Women’s Rugby Sevens, cycling, karate, wushu, table tennis, gymnastics and other events. Together, they secured an impressive haul of two gold, three silver, and 10 bronze medals across 15 events. Student-athlete Cado Lee, a member of the gold medal-winning Men’s Rugby Sevens team, was also honoured as a flag bearer for Hong Kong, China at the Games’ closing ceremony.

【EdUHK EASE Fund 2026/27 Applications are now open!】

EASE Fund provides seed funding and entrepreneurship support to EdUHK students and alumni, empowering aspiring entrepreneurs to transform innovative ideas into sustainable ventures. The Scheme will continue to offer entrepreneurial funding support of up to HK$300,000 this year.

Winning teams will receive:
💰 Seed funding support
🧑‍🏫 Entrepreneurship training and professional mentorship
🚀 Opportunity to directly participate in the HKSTP x EdUHK Co-IDEATION Programme
🚀 Potential referral to the Cyberport Creative Micro Fund (CCMF) and other entrepreneurship support programmes

承蒙校友鼎力支持，教大「校友百萬配對獎學金計劃」圓滿結束。計劃以籌募港幣一百萬元為目標，截至2026年9月30日，共籌得港幣二百一十萬八千元善款，遠超目標一倍以上。籌款成果令人鼓舞，充分反映教大校友對母校的深厚情誼與堅定支持。

獎學金經配對後，共支援超過400名學生，意義非凡。教大謹向所有慷慨捐款的校友致以衷心感謝，計劃的成功不僅展現校友對母校的深厚情誼與堅定支持，更進一步體現校友回饋母校、薪火相傳的精神。

Thanks to the generous support from alumni, EdUHK's Alumni Million Matching Scholarship Initiative has concluded with great success. With an original fundraising target of HK$1 million, the Initiative raised HK$2.108 million as of 30 September 2026, exceeding its goal by more than double. The remarkable fundraising figure is not only encouraging but also reflects the alumni community's deep connection to and unwavering support for their alma mater.

Through the matching scheme, the scholarships have benefited more than 400 students, making a meaningful impact on their educational journeys. EdUHK extends its heartfelt gratitude to all alumni who contributed generously to the Initiative. The success of the Initiative further embodies the spirit of alumni giving back to their alma mater and passing on a legacy of support to future generations.
