The EdUHK alumni gathered together for the Mooncake Workshop 2026, ready to embrace the Mid-Autumn festive spirit. Under the professional guidance of instructor Oscar, participants tried their hands at making the “Green Tea Mochi Mooncakes”. Every step of the process—from wrapping the filling to shaping and molding—was filled with joy and a sense of fulfillment.

Each handmade mooncake captured not only bountiful festive delights but also the alumni’s warm wishes and blessings. As they crafted the holiday treats, the old friends caught up, shared life updates and rekindled their campus bonds, filling the venue with a warm and cheerful atmosphere.

As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, we wish all our alumni a happy celebration and a wonderful reunion with your loved ones under the full moon!

教大校長李子建教授獲香港工業專業評審局「2026傑出成就獎」

教大校長李子建教授榮獲香港工業專業評審局（評審局）頒發「2026傑出成就獎」，以表彰他多年來在教育發展、師資培育及產學合作方面的持續貢獻。

評審局於2004年設立「傑出成就獎」，以表揚在專業範疇上有超凡貢獻的人士。歷屆得獎者包括首位榮獲諾貝爾物理學獎的港籍華人、「光纖之父」高錕教授，以及國際知名分子遺傳學家兼前港科院院長徐立之教授等。局方表示，李教授多年來致力推動教育政策研究與教師專業培訓，在課程設計、師資培育及教育創新方面均有建樹，並積極促進教育與社會及產業的連繫，推動知識轉移與應用，對香港教育及社會發展帶來深遠影響。

EdUHK President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin Receives 2026 Outstanding Achievement Award by Professional Validation Council of Hong Kong Industries

Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, President of EdUHK, has been honoured with the 2026 Outstanding Achievement Award by the Professional Validation Council of Hong Kong Industries (PVCHK), in recognition of his sustained contributions to educational development, teacher education, and industry–academia collaboration.

PVCHK established the “Outstanding Achievement Award” in 2004 to honour individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to their professional fields. Past recipients include Professor Sir Charles Kao, the first Hong Kong ethnic Chinese Nobel laureate in Physics, commonly known as the “Father of Fiber Optics,” as well as Professor Tsui Lap-Chee, a world-renowned molecular geneticist and former President of the Hong Kong Academy of Sciences.

教大今早（9月1日）於大埔校園舉行2026／27學年開學日升旗禮，逾千名新生及教職員出席，共同見證新學年正式展開。

典禮嘉賓包括中央人民政府駐香港特別行政區聯絡辦公室教育和青年部二級巡視員鄭錦鵬先生、校董會司庫凌潔心女士、校長李子建教授、副校長（學術）鄭美紅教授、副校長（研究及發展）陳智軒教授、副校長（行政）方永豪博士，以及多位協理副校長、助理副校長、院長及部門主管。羅富國教育學院校友會會長古學俊博士伉儷及葛量洪教育學院校友會主席李百強先生伉儷亦應邀出席。

EdUHK Hosts Flag-Raising Ceremony to Inaugurate 2026/27 Academic Year

EdUHK formally inaugurated the 2026/27 academic year with a Flag-Raising Ceremony held at its Tai Po campus today (1 September). The occasion was attended by over 1,000 new students and staff, marking the official commencement of the new academic year.

Distinguished guests included Mr Zheng Jinpeng, Inspector II of the Department of Educational and Youth Affairs, Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; EdUHK Council Treasurer Ms Imma Ling Kit-sum; President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin; Vice President (Academic) Professor May Cheng May-hung; Vice President (Research and Development) Professor Chetwyn Chan Che-hin; Vice President (Administration) Dr Tom Fong Wing ho; together with Associate Vice Presidents, Assistant Vice Presidents, Deans, and Department Heads. Dr Dennis Koo Hok-chun, President of the Northcote College of Education Past Students’ Association, and Mrs Koo, as well as Mr and Mrs Lee Pak-keong, Chairperson of the Grantham College of Education Past Students’ Association, were also in attendance.

教大獲逾800萬港元捐贈
推動創科、傳統文化及陽明學教育研究

教大獲香港榮耀教育基金會、唐和平女士及中華教育文化交流基金會慷慨捐贈合共逾800萬港元，支持「科學與機械人教育中心」、「中華傳統文化教育中心」及新成立的「陽明學與國際教育研究中心」發展，涵蓋創新科技、傳統文化與陽明學教育三大範疇。

捐贈儀式於8月27日在教大大埔校園舉行。由香港榮耀教育基金會會長蔡毅先生、唐和平女士的代表夏瑩女士，以及中華教育文化交流基金會副會長暨香港管理學院副董事長鄭爾聰先生，分別致贈支票。由教大校長李子建教授、協理副校長（內地協作及發展）蓋會霞女士及助理副校長（區域拓展）李輝教授代表大學接受。

教大於8月14日及17日在大埔校園舉行新學年迎新日，歡迎約500名的本地及非本地本科及高級文憑新生。透過一系列多元活動，新生得以結識新同學、了解校園設施、掌握學習資源，為展開充實的大學生活作好準備。

迎新活動內容豐富，涵蓋校園導賞、宿舍參觀、同學及導師間交流、學生表演及各學生社團展覽，還包括國家安全講座及由香港警務處代表主講的防騙講座等，以協助新生了解校園環境、規章制度及各項支援服務。迎新活動亦促進本地與非本地學生之間的聯繫，建立跨文化連結。

EdUHK Orientation Days Welcome New Cohort to a Diverse Campus

EdUHK hosted its Orientation Days on 14 and 17 August at the Tai Po campus, welcoming around 500 local and non-local new undergraduate and higher diploma students. Through a series of activities, new students familiarised with classmates, campus facilities and learning resources, laying the foundation for a rewarding university journey.

Programme highlights included campus tours, hall visits, peer mentor exchanges, student performances, and a student organisations fair. Talks on the National Security Law and anti fraud awareness, delivered by the Hong Kong Police Force, further enhanced students’ understanding of the campus life, regulations and support services. The activities also fostered cross cultural connections between local and non local participants.

EdUHK Advances Global Innovation with Eight Award-Winning Breakthroughs at SVIIF 2026

EdUHK has once again earned international recognition at the Silicon Valley International Invention Festival (SVIIF) 2026, one of the largest innovation exhibitions in the United States. Eight inventions developed by EdUHK scholars received 11 awards, comprising three Special Awards, five Gold Medals and three Silver Medals. These achievements underscore EdUHK’s growing strength in innovation, knowledge transfer and impact-driven research.

The award-winning inventions span diverse fields, including artificial intelligence (AI), educational technology, healthcare, environmental sustainability and next-generation wireless communications. 【校友專訪】校友梁寶儀Boey的逐夢之旅

校友梁寶儀（Boey）是一位剛退役的全職單車運動員，曾代表中國香港於亞運會奪得歷史性的場地單車女子團體追逐賽銅牌。

在教大修讀本科課程期間，Boey不僅學習到運動領域的專業知識，更發現自己對心理學的濃厚興趣。她感謝母校作為精英運動員友好大學的先驅，提供包括網上課堂在內的多元支援，讓學生運動員得以兼顧學業與訓練，在雙軌發展中持續追求卓越。

今年9月，Boey將重返教大攻讀心理學碩士課程，開啟人生新篇章。在影片中，Boey分享了自己的心路歷程，並寄語師弟妹勇於探索不同可能，在追夢路上突破自我；同時亦鼓勵校友積極回饋母校，攜手凝聚教大校友社群，傳承互助精神。

【Alumni Interview】Boey Leung’s Journey to Pursuing Her Dreams

Boey Leung, a recently retired professional cyclist, made history for Hong Kong, China, by winning a bronze medal in the women’s team pursuit for track cycling at the Asian Games.

During her undergraduate studies at EdUHK, Boey not only acquired professional sports expertise but also discovered her passion for psychology. She is grateful to her alma mater—a pioneer as an “Elite Athlete Friendly University”—for providing various support, including online classes, to student-athletes. This enabled them to balance academic studies and sports training, empowering them to excel in their dual-career pathways.

This September, Boey will return to EdUHK to pursue a Master’s degree in Psychology, embarking on a new chapter in her life. In the video, Boey shares her journey and encourages fellow juniors to bravely explore different possibilities and push past their limits on their way to realising their dreams. She also calls on alumni to actively give back to their alma mater, working together to strengthen the EdUHK alumni community and pass on the spirit of mutual support.

Alumni event “The Summer Dessert Workshop 2026” has come to a delightful close! With the expert guidance of our professional instructor Oscar, everyone handmade the trending pandan desserts, including pandan coconut cakes and pandan chiffon cakes, enjoying a sweet and relaxing time together.
