A heartfelt thank you to our keynote speaker, panellists, presenting schools and everyone who joined us for the IfE’s 6th Annual Symposium!
Today we explored how education thrives when teachers, leaders, students, families, researchers and community partners come together to shape learning. Our keynote speaker, Mr Alex Dunedin, shared his personal journey beyond formal education. He reflected on what education truly means, where meaningful learning happens, and how relationships, belonging and lived experience shape our capacity to learn and flourish.
Throughout the day, schools also showcased their work through poster presentations, sharing practices and initiatives that bring the symposium theme to life in real learning environments.
In line with this year’s theme, From Silos to Synergy, the closing panel discussion considered how schools, families, communities, policymakers, researchers and support services can collaborate to create environments where every learner feels included, heard and connected. Panelists discussed the protective role of education in nurturing belonging, critical thinking, student voice and inclusive school cultures. They also reflected on how shared responsibility can lead to more coherent responses to complex social realities.
