As part of the Annual Institutional Review, the IfE Quality Assurance Department recently organised two AI and Assessment workshops on the 14th July and 23rd July, led by Mr Anthony Satariano, Head Quality Assurance. The workshops brought together full-time lecturers and lecturers on contract for service to explore how assessment practices can be thoughtfully redesigned in response to the evolving role of AI in higher education.
The workshops provided an excellent platform for collaboration, enabling participants to exchange perspectives, share practical approaches and discuss strategies for designing authentic and meaningful assessments. The engaging discussions reflected a shared commitment to maintaining academic integrity while embracing the opportunities that AI presents for teaching, learning and assessment.
We extend our sincere appreciation to all participants for their valuable contributions and active engagement throughout both sessions. Their collective expertise and willingness to collaborate played a key role in the success of these workshops.
As AI continues to transform the educational landscape, initiatives such as these reaffirm our commitment to fostering innovation, supporting academic excellence and ensuring that assessment practices remain relevant, effective and learner-centred.
