Great representation in Vienna! Dr Karen Borg Grima attended the EANM Congress 2026 on behalf of and the EFRS - European Federation of Radiographer Societies Nuclear Medicine Committee. ✨☢

A key feature of the congress was the joint EFRS–EANM session, “New Working Practices in Nuclear Medicine: Innovation, Safety and Emerging Responsibilities,” which focused on remote scanning, technical support, patient safety, and the future of professional practice in Nuclear Medicine. Well done to all 👏👏👏

As the lead coordinator of the EU-funded Optimize RT project, - University of Malta was proud to participate in the recent project dissemination event held at Fondazione IRCCS San Gerardo dei Tintori in Monza, Italy.

The event brought together European partners and medical professionals to discuss the potential for Optimization in Cone-Beam CT (CBCT) within radiotherapy, explaining the exposure parameters, dose & image quality metrics, and outlining the design and development of a micro-credential training course to help train professionals in this process.

was represented Project Coordinator Dr Guilherme Couto, Prof. Francis Zarb, Dr Jonathan Portelli, and Ms Claudia Aradas, whose contributions drive forward this vital initiative for enhanced patient care and clinical practice across Europe.

Well done to Dr Lara Sammut for her leadership and contribution at the 8th Annual Conference of the Directorate Allied Health Services earlier this week!

Apart from serving as the Chair of the Scientific Committee, Dr Sammut delivered a talk to explain the rigorous abstract review process adopted for the research abstracts accepted for the conference. 👏👏
