⚠️ STATUS UPDATE ⚠️ Internet connectivity disruption

🟩 5:23 PM Update:
UAB Network Services will restore our primary internet path this evening at 10PM. We expect no significant impact to campus or hospital internet connectivity during the process.

🟨 3:30 PM Update:
Due to instability on our primary internet path UAB Network Services has moved traffic to our secondary path. We will remain on the secondary path until we can stabilize connectivity through Atlanta. Campus internet connectivity should be stable at this time.

🟥 3:15 PM: UAB Network Services has observed an issue with our internet service provider. We are working to identify the root cause.

We've got a few tips on how to start the fall semester with confidence next week 🐲

1. Check your email EVERY DAY. Official UAB messages, and anything class related will come to your Outlook inbox. If you receive a message asking for your password or personal information report it with the Report Phish button native to Outlook.

2. Set up multi-factor authentication on two devices. 2FA is required for all faculty, staff, and students at UAB. Turn on push notifications and check "This is my device" for automatic logins for 30 days on that device and browser.

3. Make sure to connect to campus wifi on your devices, doing so keeps you and your information protected.

4. Contact AskIT for any IT help. When you need help, we’re here to get you back to work, fast! Request IT services, report problems with IT services, or read knowledge articles about IT services.
