University of South Carolina College of Education Research is fundamental to the mission of the college.

The College of Education is a state and national leader in providing comprehensive, world-class preparation for teachers, counselors, education administrators, researchers and policymakers. Our highly credentialed team of college administrators are guiding the efforts of our faculty and staff in helping educators achieve excellence in teaching, and in helping students achieve success in learning.

The College of Education is divided into four academic departments: the Departments of Educational Leadership and Policies, Educational Studies, Instruction and Teacher Education and Physical Education. Home to a variety of education degree programs, each department is led by faculty and staff members who have expert knowledge in these disciplines so they can use their exceptional talent and unique experiences to benefit the programs and students. The Professional Development School's Coaching Academy met for its first session this week. Cohort Three is made up of 24 educators representing eight PDS schools. Together, they began their year-long journey toward becoming Master Coaching Teachers.

Six outstanding Coaching Academy graduates are leading the cohort. These fellow educators are working as facilitators alongside the College of Education Clinical Experiences team. The college is excited to support this new cohort as they strengthen their practices and grow in the profession.

Our Grad Student Picnic is one of our favorite ways to kick off the new semester. Graduate students from across the college enjoy dinner with fellow students, faculty and staff.
