Thank you to Emely Rumble, LCSW, author of "Bibliotherapy in the Bronx,” for speaking at the 7th Annual Augusta Baker Lecture last Friday. Her deeply held belief in the value of bibliotherapy as a healing tool was inspirational.

August Baker Endowed Chair Nicole A. Cooke, Ph.D., praised Rumble for the depth of her research into Augusta Baker’s life and legacy in preparation for the event.

“I'm just so grateful to join the scholars, storytellers, librarians and dreamers who've gathered tonight in the name of Augusta Baker,” said Rumble. “I really did have so much fun, reading through her archives.”

We appreciate Richland Library's partnership in support of this event.
