Dr. Rika Saito, a professor of World Languages and Literatures in the College of Arts and Sciences at WMU, will give a special talk March 11 in partnership with the Soga Japan Center.

The lecture, "How I Met? How I Thought?: My Research on Waka Yamada, Modern Japanese Feminist," is at 1 p.m. in 3025 Brown Hall. This program is free and open to the public.

Meet Minami Ito, an Aviation Flight Science student from Japan!

"The WMU College of Aviation has one of the top programs for professional pilot careers. My dream is to become an international pilot! Currently, only about 6 percent of pilots in the industry are female, but at WMU, approximately 20 percent of the pilot population is female. I strongly desired to be surrounded by peers who share the same passion, and I love that WMU actively encourages diversity—not only in the College of Aviation but also across the main campus. This is why I chose to attend WMU!"
