Our fellows have been sharing their remarkable achievements and activities from the summer! Graduate Fellow Maggie Warren (English) reports: "My double life was thriving this summer - I published under both my identities: My poetry and other creative writing is attributed to Maggie Rue Hess. I had poems appear in Mulberry Literary, The Shore, SWWIM, and Silly Goose Press. My academic projects are credited to Maggie Warren. An article ("'I am in it you are in it': Visual poetry as communal elegy in Ghost Of") sharing some of the work for my dissertation was published in Diffractions. And in less academic news, I baked several fun treats, including my first attempt at a trompe l'oeil, a mousse and cake-filled pastry shaped like an apple."

The screening will include an introduction and Q&A with UT Distinguished Professor in Humanities Urmila Seshagiri (English).

The Denbo Center is excited to be partnering with Central Cinema on this series featuring a compelling lineup of films related to our annual theme, "Authenticity: Identity and Place." Each film will take place at Central Cinema and will include an introduction and short Q&A by a member of UT arts and humanities faculty.

Our fellows have been sharing their remarkable achievements and activities from the summer! Faculty Fellow Moussa Seck (WLC World Languages and Cultures) attended Congrès mondial du CIÉF à Alcalá de Henares, where the annual theme, "In Other Worlds," considered how Francophone literatures and arts challenge existing worlds and conceptualize other worlds.

Annamaria Haden, DCHA Graduate Student Fellow (History), visited the Roosevelt Institute for American Studies in Middelburg, the Netherlands, with the support of a Riggsby Travel Fellowship. At the Roosevelt Institute International PhD Seminar in American History and American Studies, she presented and shared her chapter draft on animal testing at Bikini Atoll.

Created through the generous support of Stuart and Katherine Riggsby, the Riggsby Travel Fellowship provides financial assistance to Denbo Center Faculty Fellows and Graduate Student Fellows to help defray travel costs to conferences, museums, and archival institutions for the purpose of furthering their research.

We are excited to be partnering with Central Cinema on a series featuring a compelling lineup of films related to our annual theme, "Authenticity: Identity and Place." Each film will include an introduction and short Q&A by a member of UT arts and humanities faculty.
