A milestone more than a decade in the making. 🩺🎓
This summer, the WSU Family Medicine Residency Program at Pullman Regional Hospital celebrated the graduation of its first class of resident physicians: Jeff Ward, DO, and Mohammed Younes, MD.
Their graduation represents more than the completion of three years of training, it marks the beginning of a legacy built around strengthening health care in the Palouse.
Since opening in 2023, the Family Medicine Residency Center has conducted more than 7,000 patient visits and helped more than 2,000 patients establish care with a resident physician as their primary care provider.
Both graduates are carrying the lessons, relationships and community connections they built in Pullman into the next chapters of their careers. Dr. Ward will continue his training through a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Maryland, while Dr. Younes will remain in the community, joining Pullman Family Medicine to provide whole-person care to patients of all ages.
As Dr. Younes shared, he came to Pullman to learn family medicine, and gained so much more, including mentors, community and a family of colleagues who helped shape the physician he has become.
Congratulations to Dr. Ward and Dr. Younes on this achievement. Their story is a powerful reminder of what can happen when physicians, educators, health systems and communities believe in the future of local health care.
