Dr. Mary Caron Lingold (Virginia Commonwealth University) and Dr. Emily Green (George Mason University) were in residence last week for a series of workshops with Musicology area ensembles related to a co-authored book with our very own Dr. Maria Ryan titled, Guide to Notated Sources in Early Black Music.

They discussed teaching and performing early black music with Dr. Anya Wilkening and the musicology students during the area meeting and our early music ensemble performed a few pieces highlighted during the presentation.

Thank you to Dr. Ryan for such and e lighting and thoughtful discussion!
