Capital Medical Society partnered with the College of Medicine’s Division of Student Affairs & Admissions, hosting its second annual Evening Rounds event August 28.

More than 30 Tallahassee-area physicians representing 17 specialties spent the evening providing networking, mentorship and career guidance to FSU’s first- and second-year medical students.

Congratulations members of the M.D. Class of 2030, who earned their white coats in a "welcome to the profession of medicine" ceremony Friday evening, Aug. 7, at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall. Also that evening, 13 members of the M.D. Class of 2027 were inducted into the FSU Chapman Chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Five other classmates were accepted for induction but could not attend and will be inducted before graduation. The Class of 2030 celebrated completing its first semester of medical school. 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬!
More than 300 children and their families in Quincy, Florida are better prepared for the school year, thanks to students from the HOME Street Medicine program who took part in a Back-to-School Health Fair. The College of Medicine students provided blood pressure and blood sugar screenings. Offered by St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and the City of Quincy, the fair included participants from many community organizations and healthcare providers. This is just one of many community outreach programs our M.D. and Physician Assistant students do every year. Those taking part included PA student Natalie Miller and M.D. student Carly Lewis, both HOME Street Medicine board members, along with PA students Melanie Orta, Sarina Asgari and Nicholas Toney, and M.D. students Rachel Jackson and Daija Smith.
