The launch of the programme was a response to the growing demand for pharmaceutical care in the community.

The Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy is a very dynamic Department that combines a strong focus on teaching students in Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy, together with research in cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, drug delivery, pharmacogenetics and clinical pharmacy

The full-time Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) Programme was launched in 2009 and the programme obtained full accreditation from The Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Hong Kong in 2012. The programme was developed with reference to well-established pharmacy curricula offered by other renowned universities around the world, international trends in pharmacist training, and the specific demands of Hong Kong.

血脂管理、正確用藥及保健品選擇，都是市民日常健康管理中常見的課題。早前，賽馬會藥健同心藥物支援網絡與黃大仙地區康健中心舉辦「血脂、藥物管理與保健品的迷思拆解」專題健康講座，與社區人士一同探討健康管理的重要知識。

活動由香港大學藥理及藥劑學系註冊藥劑師李家豪先生主講，內容涵蓋血脂與心血管健康的關係、安全用藥資訊，以及常見保健品迷思的拆解，提醒市民留意產品成分、功效聲稱，以及與藥物同時使用時可能產生的風險。

⭐ Navigating Safe Use of Chinese and Western Medicines: Local Developments ⭐   
The concurrent use of Chinese and Western medicines is a common practice among people in Hong Kong. As Integrated Chinese-Western Medicine services expand in the community and patient records become increasingly connected, pharmacists serve as vital gatekeepers in identifying potential herb-drug interactions and ensuring the safe, rational use of both medicine systems. 💊🌿
This seminar is designed to strengthen pharmacists’ capacity in this evolving area of practice. Participants will gain insight into the local landscape of Chinese-Western medicine integration, including how drug interaction reviews are conducted and the evidence base used to inform clinical decisions. 🔍🗺️ Through real-world examples, participants will leave with practical approaches to identify safety concerns, communicate effectively with other healthcare providers, and confidently support patients navigating both treatment traditions. 🤝

🌟Roundtable Meeting – Development of Diabetes Management in Community Pharmacy in Hong Kong 🌟

We are delighted to share that the Jockey Club PHARM+ Community Medication Service Network, initiated and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, has successfully hosted the Roundtable Meeting on the topic “Development of Diabetes Management in Community Pharmacy” in Hong Kong on 31 August 2026.
As Hong Kong continues to strengthen primary healthcare through the Primary Healthcare Blueprint, the role of community pharmacists is evolving beyond medication supply — towards becoming an accessible clinical support point in the community.

The roundtable brought together more than 30 pharmacy service providers and healthcare stakeholders to co-design an integrated diabetes service model in community pharmacy, with a focus on practical clinical pathways, interprofessional collaboration, and sustainable service development.

💬Dr Joyce Ching, Chairman of Health In Action, shared on “Breaking Boundaries: Reimagining Community Pharmacy as a Clinical Hub for Diabetes Care”, highlighting the importance of lifestyle medicine, patient engagement, and the unique accessibility of pharmacists in supporting people living with diabetes.

We are grateful to all participants for their valuable insights and active exchange. These discussions will help shape a more coordinated, accessible and evidence-based approach to diabetes management in the community.

拆解保健品的常見迷思 💊🔍

賽馬會藥健同心藥物支援網絡早前於南區地區康健中心舉辦社區健康教育工作坊「保健品的迷思」，一同認識保健品的功效、潛在風險及安全使用須知。

是次工作坊由香港大學藥理及藥劑學系註冊藥劑師李家豪先生主講，透過生活化例子拆解常見保健品迷思，包括「天然成分是否一定安全？」、「保健品是否食得愈多愈好？」及「保健品能否代替藥物治療？」🤔🌿，協助參加者建立正確的健康資訊判斷能力。

工作坊亦提醒參加者，部分保健品可能與處方藥物產生相互作用，或因重複攝取相同成分而增加健康風險 ⚠️💊。選購及服用保健品前，應了解個人健康需要、產品成分及相關證據，並在有需要時向家庭醫生或藥劑師查詢。社區藥劑師可提供專業用藥諮詢，協助市民作出更安全、明智的健康選擇 📋🩺。

護「骨」有道：藥劑師教你及早預防骨質疏鬆 🦴✨

你可能以為骨質疏鬆是「老年人病」，其實，骨質流失可能早在四十歲開始悄悄發生，而女性在停經後風險更是倍增。骨折不但會影響活動能力、增加住院風險，更會連帶影響心肺功能和生活質素。
好消息是骨質疏鬆是可預防的。而社區藥房的藥劑師，就是你預防第一步的重要伙伴。 ❤️

社區藥劑師如何守護骨骼健康？ 🤝
社區藥劑師不只派藥，更會主動識別高風險人士，協助早期發現與預防：

⭐風險識別與健康評估  根據病歷、年齡、性別、體重、服藥紀錄等因素，藥劑師可協助進行初步骨質疏鬆風險評估，例如問卷工具（如COSA）或非入侵式篩查服務，推薦進一步骨質密度檢查。

⭐教育與預防建議  包括每日所需鈣質及維他命D攝取量、適合年齡的運動建議（如負重運動、太極）、戒煙限酒的重要性，以及如何避免跌倒。

⭐藥物輔導與依從性支援  若已處於骨質疏鬆治療階段，藥劑師會提供藥物資訊、提醒注意服藥時機（如避免與鈣片同服）、解釋副作用及跟進藥物依從性，提升治療效果。

⭐連結資源與轉介  對於高風險人士或跌倒病人，藥劑師亦能主動轉介至內分泌科、骨科、老人科或物理治療師，爭取早期介入。

社區藥房作為慢性疾病防線之一 🛡️
骨質疏鬆症初期往往毫無徵兆，常被大眾忽略，但其引發的後果卻極為嚴重。以髖骨折為例，研究指出患者在骨折後一年內的死亡率高達兩成。除了劇烈疼痛，骨折更會嚴重削弱患者的活動與自理能力，迫使其長期臥床，進而誘發肺炎、尿道感染、壓瘡及肌肉攣縮等致命併發症。

當我們談論慢病防控，除了糖尿病、高血壓、血脂問題，骨骼健康也應被納入日常健康管理中。社區藥劑師憑藉便捷的地點、無需預約的服務，能補足醫療體系中對骨質疏鬆預防與管理的缺口。

真實故事：意外跌倒揭開骨鬆危機 🔍
一位70歲婆婆在街市不慎滑倒，幸運地只是擦傷，但她在藥房購買消毒用品時，藥劑師主動關心其骨骼健康。經簡單問卷評估後，發現她從未檢查過骨質密度，體重偏輕，且已經停經多年。藥劑師轉介她做骨密度掃描，最後確診骨質疏鬆，及早接受藥物與營養介入，避免未來更嚴重的骨折。

結語：防鬆不難，只怕你唔知 💡
骨質疏鬆是一種靜悄悄的慢病，但社區藥劑師能夠為你打開預防之門，從日常提醒做起，從藥物諮詢延伸至健康評估，將骨骼健康納入你人生的健康藍圖中。

認識乙型肝炎，守護肝臟健康 💊🩺

賽馬會藥健同心藥物支援網絡日前在中西區地區康健中心舉辦社區健康教育工作坊，與參加者一同認識乙型肝炎及社區藥房服務。

是次工作坊由香港大學藥理及藥劑學系註冊藥劑師李駿先生主講，主題為「乙型肝炎的預防與控制及社區藥房服務介紹」。內容涵蓋乙型肝炎的基本認識、定期檢查及長期管理的重要性、日常護肝小貼士，以及正確用藥和持續跟進的注意事項 📋💊。工作坊亦介紹了社區藥房在基層醫療中的角色，包括提供用藥諮詢、藥物管理、健康教育、協助識別需要跟進或轉介的情況，支援市民更好地管理自身健康 🏥🌱。

同一成分，不同選擇：我可以點揀？ 🤔

「醫生話幫我轉咗藥，但包裝又唔同、顏色又唔同，會唔會食錯藥？」
「點解今次拎藥同上次唔一樣？我可以自己揀邊款？」 🤷‍♂️

面對以上情況，不少病人會感到疑惑，甚至對轉藥心存抗拒。事實上，隨着本港基層醫療政策推動「社區配藥」，越來越多市民會接觸到同一成分但品牌或外觀不同的藥物選項。作為社區健康導航員，藥劑師可以幫助你了解藥物成分、比較不同選擇，並按你的需要提供專業建議，令你用藥更安心。 ❤️

藥名唔同，但成分一樣？ 💊
很多人未必知道，一種藥物可以有「原廠藥」（Brand-name drug）和「副廠藥」（Generic drug）。例如控制血壓的成分「Amlodipine」，可以由不同藥廠製造。雖然品牌名稱、藥丸外觀、包裝和價格可能不同，但只要屬於合法註冊藥物，其品質、安全性和療效都受到監管。在香港，所有藥劑製品（不論是原廠藥或副廠藥），均受《藥劑業及毒藥條例》（第138章）規管，必須獲得香港藥劑業及毒藥管理局註冊（包裝上印有「HK-###XX」註冊號碼) ，方可在市面供應。副廠藥在註冊時亦需提交相關科學資料，包括證明與原研產品具生物等效性（bioequivalence）等，以支持其藥效表現與安全使用。一般而言，原廠藥由原研藥廠自行投放大量資源進行藥物研發、臨床試驗及監察，並在專利期內承擔相關成本，因此價格通常較高；專利期過後，其他藥廠可以生產同成分的副廠藥，因毋須重複整個研發過程，售價通常較相宜，為病人提供多一個可負擔的選擇。

安全性與替代性 (Interchangeability) 的深入剖析 🔍
1. 安全性與生物等效性 (Bioequivalence) 🧬
副廠藥與原廠藥的有效成分、劑量必須相同，並通過嚴格的生物等效性測試。這表示副廠藥進入血液循環的速度和吸收程度，須與原廠藥在可接受範圍內，確保提供相約的臨床效益和風險。品質方面，副廠藥的生產過程亦需遵循生產質量管理規範（Good Manufacturing Practice）。

2. 輔料（非活性成分）的影響🧪
副廠藥和原廠藥的主要區別在於非活性成分（如輔料、色素、調味劑）。這些成分一般而言不影響藥效，但極少數患者可能對某種輔料過敏或不耐受。

3. 特殊藥物類別的考量 🚨
對於某些治療指數較窄 (Narrow Therapeutic Index) 的藥物，轉藥需更謹慎。以抗腦癇藥為例，醫學界對更換不同品牌的藥物有不同說法。雖然有證據支持某些藥物（如Levetiracetam）進行替代，但醫生和患者的同意至關重要。這是因為血液藥物濃度的微小波動都可能影響病情控制或引致副作用。因此，此類藥物的更換需特別關注，並建議監測血藥濃度及臨床反應。

價格、劑型、劑量…… 點揀最好？ 💡
根據病人情況，藥劑師可就以下幾方面提供專業建議：
⭐️價錢考慮：副廠藥因毋須重複巨額研發，價格通常更相宜，有助減輕長期負擔。
⭐️劑型選擇：例如吞嚥困難人士或可選擇口溶片、藥水（部分藥物的劑型轉換或需醫生更改處方，藥劑師會按需要與醫生溝通，確保用藥安全）。
⭐️與其他藥物交互作用：藥劑師可一併檢視你所有藥物（包括不同醫生開出的處方藥、自購藥物、保健品），檢查清楚會否有相互作用。

另一方面，藥劑師能否為病人選擇不同品牌，取決於醫生處方的寫法。若處方上列明的是有效成分（active ingredient），藥劑師可按情況配發不同品牌的合法註冊藥物；若醫生指明特定品牌名稱，藥房則必須配發該指定品牌。病人不應自行轉藥、加減藥量，或將不同品牌藥物混合使用而不作查詢。如對藥物外觀、品牌或效果有疑問，可向藥劑師或醫生確認，再作調整。

轉藥時，有咩要留意 ⚠️
有些病人見到藥盒、藥丸顏色或包裝不同，會擔心是否「拎錯藥」。其實，不同牌子的同一成分藥物，外觀可以不同，這並不一定代表藥效不同。最重要是核對藥物名稱、成分、劑量、服法，以及藥袋標籤上的指示。當轉換不同品牌的藥物時，藥劑師亦可協助病人留意用藥後反應，並按需要建議監察血壓、血糖或其他相關指標🩸。如有任何不適、副作用，或病情控制出現變化，應盡快向醫護人員查詢。

社區藥房：給你有選擇、揀得啱 🏡
新一代社區藥房不再只是「拎藥地方」，而是「用藥導航站」。透過個別諮詢、用藥回顧、病人教育，社區藥劑師幫助你：了解不同藥物選項及成分掌握轉藥時的注意事項（如監察血壓／血糖變化）有需要時轉介醫生作進一步調整這不僅提升藥物用的安全與效率，也令病人更具掌控感。
