【仁毅醫學教育計劃2026】本院護理學榮譽學士四位同學憑卓越學術與臨床表現，獲頒「仁毅醫學教育獎學金」：

主題：「零時間運動」是甚麼？上班族必學4大場景實踐法告別久坐危機

//香港人生活節奏快，不少上班族及學生長時間久坐，運動量明顯不足，不但增加患上肥胖、二型糖尿病及心血管疾病的風險，也可能對心理健康造成負面影響。香港都會大學護理及健康學院教授賴婉君教授鼓勵大家可透過「零時間運動」打破久坐習慣，只需在日常生活中隨時隨地加入簡單活動（如行樓梯、原地踏步、伸展），就能輕鬆增加每日的活動量，提升整體健康。//

【HKMU NHS at MetroChallenge 2026🏆】We are thrilled to celebrate four outstanding students from the School of Nursing and Health Sciences who have secured Implementation Fund and incubation support in the HKMU MetroChallenge 2026 with their innovative projects rooted in care and well-being.

👩🏻‍⚕️Team CareDirect HK
🏆Tung Ni Yeung, Jenny, Yuk Hei Lo, Yuk Hiu Lo
Three nursing students from N&HS formed a cross-disciplinary team together with members from social work, AI technology, education, and finance. Facing challenges including technical rollout and service validation, the team transformed their care-centred idea into an AI-powered home-care solution. The project aims to address unmet community care needs and support quality ageing in place, helping people stay safe and comfortable in their familiar home environments.

🏆Ching Yi Pang, Dorothy
Drawing from her nursing background and a real-life scam incident, Dorothy and her team developed 「都duck」, an anti-scam learning platform with personalised simulation games. Beyond basic financial knowledge, the platform serves as a protective shield, addressing the mental and emotional toll of financial fraud and supporting scam victims and their loved ones.

Both projects translate nursing values into social innovation — turning genuine community pain points into practical, empowering solutions. Congratulations to all NHS awardees!

三位護理及健康學院護理學同學，聯同社會工作、人工智能技術、教育及金融領域成員，組成跨專業團隊，共同克服跨領域協調、技術落地、服務驗證等難關，研發人工智能家居護理方案，回應社區護理缺口，實踐優質居家安老，支援市民在熟悉環境安心生活。

彭婧怡同學結合護理專業視角，以真實騙案經歷作起點，與團隊打造防詐學習平台「都duck」，並設立個人化模擬體驗。平台不單教授金融知識，更著重關注詐騙對受害者造成的情緒及心理影響，為受騙人士及其親友提供支援及關心。

兩個項目都將護理價值結合社會創新，由真實社會痛點出發，研發貼地、造福社會的方案。再次恭喜兩支團隊！

【HEART HK 2026 Health Video Series 🎞️】Heart health and blood pressure management are closely connected to our daily lives. Yet many people may not know the right ways to care for their hearts and keep their blood pressure under control. Building on last year’s vision, nursing students at Hong Kong Metropolitan University have once again planned and produced the HEART HK 2026 health video series, turning professional health knowledge into practical tips for everyday living. 💡

主題：甩牙加速腦退化？研究揭每少1隻牙大腦衰老近1年附5招護齒指南

//許多人誤以為牙齒鬆動或脫落只是自然老化，但其實這常是牙周病的警號，而牙周病不僅影響咀嚼與外觀，還與冠心病及腦中風等健康問題有關。日本一項追蹤研究更發現，牙齒數量較少的長者，腦部萎縮速度明顯加快，每少1顆牙齒，大腦老化程度便相當於接近1年。換言之，保留牙齒不僅是為了咀嚼功能，也是守護大腦健康的關鍵一環。//

【🧬 From Lab to Life: Building Hong Kong’s Genomics Future】From prenatal screening to rare disease diagnosis, genomics is transforming modern medicine. Yet Hong Kong still needs more population-specific data and trained professionals to meet growing demand. In this impact story, Dr Kelvin Chan Yuen Kwong shows how HKMU is bridging that gap; from the lab bench, to the lecture hall, and into the startup world.

As he explains, "Different countries and populations have their own genetic profile, and as a result they have different kinds of disease prevalence." His research generates Hong Kong-specific knowledge for non-invasive prenatal screening, carrier screening, and rare disease diagnosis, helping shorten the long diagnostic journey for patients and families.

His team is also building Hong Kong’s genomics capacity from the ground up:
🥼 Establishing state-of-the-art sequencing platforms at HKMU
🥼 Launching the Bachelor of Science with Honours in Medical Laboratory Science and Master of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Science programmes to nurture the next generation of laboratory scientists
🥼 Exploring One Health research on human and companion-animal microbiomes
🥼 Co-founding ConEdu, a digital CPD platform supported by HKMU’s Incubation Programme

From lab to classroom to community, Dr Chan’s work demonstrates how applied genomics, education, and entrepreneurship can deliver real-life impact for patients, families, and future professionals. ✨
