This past Saturday, the Lincoln Memorial University College of Dental Medicine was proud to participate in the Knoxville Area Urban League’s annual Shoes for School event at Covenant Health Park!
This community event helped local school-aged children prepare for the new school year by providing free shoes, haircuts, school supplies, and a variety of other goods and services.
As part of the event, the College of Dental Medicine provided free dental screenings and distributed toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss to help children and families start the school year with healthy smiles.

This publication highlights the link between oral health and systemic disease, emphasizing collaboration between dental and medical professionals. It explores biological mechanisms connecting oral Inflamation to overall health.

LMU College of Dental Medicine was honored to participate in Back to School Night, hosted by the Avenue Dream Center, where hundreds of children received free dental screenings as families prepared for the new school year.

The evening brought together more than 50 community partners to serve over 1,500 children and family members, providing essential resources, encouragement, and support. From dental screenings and hygiene supplies to new shoes and school essentials, the event reflected the power of a community working together to help every child start the school year with confidence.

Thank you to the Avenue Dream Center and all of the organizations that made this incredible evening possible. Together, we’re building healthier smiles and stronger communities

For their last day of orientation, the class of 2030 got their hands dirty while volunteering with Ijams Nature Center ! Even at the beginning of their careers, it is vital that all of our students give back to the Knoxville community both in and out of the clinic. Thanks for a great first week future dentists!

Day 2 of our LMU-CDM DMD orientation showed bright futures and even brighter smiles! Thanks to Procter & Gamble Oral Care, every member of the Class of 2030 received a complimentary Oral-B iO Series 9 electric toothbrush.
