Research Assistant Professor Alexis Devitre’s interdisciplinary team is building a laser-based device that will one day assess the integrity of materials inside running nuclear reactors.

Their effort includes other researchers from multiple disciplines at both UT and ORNL, including The University of Tennessee Department of Nuclear Engineering Associate Professor Khalid Hattar, The University of Tennessee Department of Materials Science and Engineering Professor Philip Rack, and graduate and undergraduate .

TCE Senior Writer and founder of Goods4Greatness, Rhiannon Potkey, was recently honored by Toyota at the espnW: Women + Sports Summit in Ojai, California, joining the 11th class of Toyota’s Everyday Heroes program.

Toyota’s Everyday Heroes recognizes individuals making a difference for women and girls in their local communities through sports. Potkey founded Goods4Greatness to ensure every child has access to the equipment they need to participate in sports.

Decorated US Army Special Forces veteran Tyler Skeen has been named the new executive director of national security and defense programs for the Defense Development and Applied Research Center (DARC) at UT.
