The Department of Management at City University of Hong Kong was delighted to host Ms Christine Tsui, Co-founder and CEO of Canpanion Group, for the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Talk Series on 26 October 2026.

In her inspiring sharing, Christine traced her entrepreneurial journey from investment banking to founding Canpanion Group, an AI-driven social impact technology company. Drawing from her experience across finance, technology, and social innovation, she offered valuable insights into cross-sector entrepreneurship, the development of AI solutions for mental health and special educational needs, and the importance of creating both commercial and social value.

We thank Christine for sharing her experiences and inspiring our students to explore innovation-driven solutions that make a meaningful impact on society.

The Department of Management at City University of Hong Kong was delighted to welcome Mr Kenneth Kwong, CFA, CEO of DF Group and CIO of YNTRY, to the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Talk Series, where he shared his insights on “Technology Entrepreneurship in the Fast-Changing Global Environment.”

Drawing on his extensive international experience across finance, investment, and entrepreneurship, Mr Kwong shared his personal journey and interactions with investors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders from around the world. He highlighted the importance of cultivating a global perspective, building meaningful networks, and identifying opportunities in an increasingly interconnected and rapidly evolving business landscape.

Mr Kwong also introduced YNTRY, an early-stage ecosystem that connects high-growth start-ups with advisors and investors. Through the platform, founders can access expert guidance and prepare for fundraising opportunities, while investors can discover promising ventures and gain valuable insights to support their investment decisions.

The session also explored a range of emerging opportunities and areas of impact, including FinTech, sustainable finance, sustainable energy, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and preventive healthcare. These topics underscored the diverse sectors and challenges that entrepreneurs and investors are navigating in today's dynamic global environment.

The Department of Management at City University of Hong Kong was honoured to host Mr Patrick Lee, Co-Founder of Invisible Tech (Asia), for the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talk Series 2026–27 on 20 October 2026.

Mr Lee shared valuable insights on his journey from business manager to entrepreneur. He discussed the skills, mindset, and resilience required to transition from a corporate environment to a start-up, navigate early-stage uncertainty, and overcome the challenges of launching a new venture.

The session provided students and aspiring entrepreneurs with a valuable opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world entrepreneurial experiences.

On 12 October 2026, the Department of Management at City University of Hong Kong hosted Dr. Florence Chan for an engaging session in our ongoing Innovation & Entrepreneurship Talk Series. The event gave students a valuable chance to learn from Dr. Chan's rich entrepreneurial and engineering background.

In her inspiring talk, "Spatial AI for a Future Inclusive Society," Dr. Chan examined the ways Spatial AI and wearable haptic technologies are dismantling physical and environmental obstacles faced by Hong Kong's disadvantaged and disabled communities. Through AI Guided's flagship GUIDi navigation technology, she demonstrated how real-time spatial awareness combined with tactile feedback empowers users with independent mobility, building self-reliance, and fostering meaningful social inclusion. Her journey as Founder and CEO of AI Guided Limited was also a key highlight, as she offered practical insights into turning academic research into market-ready assistive technology—a message that struck a strong chord with the audience.

The Department of Management at City University of Hong Kong proudly welcomed Ms. Penney Chong, Co-founder & CEO of Green Vigor Limited (HK) & Green Vigor Pte Limited (SG), as our distinguished guest speaker for the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Talk Series.

Ms. Chong delivered a presentation titled "The Green Game: A Climate Tech Entrepreneur’s Survival Guide from Zero to One." She showcased her company's commitment to urban sustainability and recounted her experience of converting green innovations into profitable ventures through Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) models. She highlighted the value of utilizing university sandboxes to test ideas and provided critical insights on avoiding common mistakes in co-founder equity, team building, and market positioning. The session wrapped up with an engaging Q&A segment.

We sincerely thank Ms. Penney Chong. Her willingness to share lessons from her climate tech entrepreneurship journey gave our students practical knowledge beyond textbook learning. Her invaluable expertise and experiences are deeply appreciated.

The Department of Management successfully held its Information Day activities on 3 October 2026, with its booth and admission talks attracting over 3,600 visitors and attendees, reflecting strong interest in the BBA Management programme. Throughout the day, prospective students and parents had the opportunity to learn more about our curriculum, learning opportunities, student life, and career prospects.

A key highlight of the event was the three admission talks held at YEUNG LT-14, where Mr. Cyrus Chau, BBA Management Programme Leader, and Dr. Andy Kwan, Admission Tutor, shared insights into programme features, admission requirements, and the exciting opportunities available to Management students at CityUHK.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our student helpers for their enthusiasm, dedication, and valuable contributions throughout the event. Their support played an important role in creating a welcoming and engaging experience for our visitors and contributing to the success of the event.

Thank you to everyone who visited our booth and attended the talks. We look forward to welcoming the next generation of future leaders to the CityUHK MGT community.

We had the honour of inviting Mr. Michael Wong, Founder & CEO of HairCoSys Limited, to host a seminar on “From Family Business to AI Business: My O-to-1 Journey” for the Department of Management’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship Talk Series on 30 Sept 2026.

Mr. Wong shared his insights on transforming a traditional Hong Kong family hair care business into a global AI startup, his journey building HairCoSys at the Hong Kong Science Park, and winning a Gold Medal at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva. He also discussed his next chapter: transforming and running multiple businesses as a One-Person Company (OPC), powered by AI.

His seminar inspired students to view AI transformation as a platform for traditional businesses to reinvent themselves and for individuals to thrive in the age of AI.
