TCD is ranking 26th in Europe overall,
53rd worldwide in Modern Languages

Trinity College Dublin has placed 75th in the 2027 QS World University Rankings, holding its strongest position in a decade.

This year’s ranking confirms College’s place as Ireland’s top ranked university.

The QS World University Rankings evaluated 8,808 institutions and ranked 1,504 universities across nine indicators within five categories.

The 2027 ranking is due in large part to strong performances in indicators such as international faculty, international students, employment outcomes and sustainability.

College placed 29th globally in the Sustainability category and holds 22 subjects in the top 100, according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025.

Additionally, it is ranked as the 35th most international university in the world, according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025 and has students and staff from over 125 countries.

We'd like to draw your attention to the upcoming conference, 'Irish-Austrian Cultural Ties from Modernism to the Present', at MIC Limerick from 17–19 JUNE 2026.

The conference marks the 60th anniversary of the Austrian Embassy in Dublin and brings together researchers working on Irish-Austrian cultural, literary, philosophical, historical, and intellectual connections. Amongst the recipients of TCD honorary doctorates will be civil rights lawyer Helena Kennedy & Helen Prejean, the incredible nun & anti-death penalty activist who was depicted by Susan Sarandon in the film version of ‘Dead Man Walking’. On 18 JUNE at 6.30pm in the Long Room Hub, the two of them along with our Chancellor Mary McAleese will take part a public ‘conversation’ mediated by Professor David Kenny.
