ARIAM & LRIAM Diploma registrations are now open for November/December 2026.

Whether you are looking to advance your qualifications in performance or teaching, RIAM’s Associate and Licentiate Diplomas offer recognised advanced qualifications for performers, teachers and Speech & Drama practitioners seeking to develop their professional practice.

The November/December examination session takes place from **23 November to 4 December 2026**.

**Registration and application deadline: Wednesday, 30 September 2026 at 5.00pm.**

New year, new students, new Deborah selfie.

For the second year running, and therefore officially a tradition (according to the Marketing Team anyway), we are marking the start of the academic year with our Orientation Selfie.

So, a HUGE welcome to all of our new full-time students beginning their studies at RIAM today.

Orientation Week is all about getting to know the place, the people and the rhythm of life as a music performance student. Across the week, our Students’ Union, Administrative Team, Heads of Faculty and colleagues throughout RIAM will be on hand with advice, introductions, class meetings and one-to-one support.

There is a lot to take in, plenty of new faces to meet, and a whole year of music ahead. We look forward to seeing you develop as Academy Artists, and to supporting you as you flourish during your time here.

See Alina Ibragimova and Cédric Tiberghien in free public masterclasses at RIAM tomorrow, ahead of their Wigmore Series Dublin performance on Sunday.

Featuring RIAM pianists Ai Lin Sun, Defne Gultoprak and Daniel Uman, performing works by Liszt and Mozart.

Alina Ibragimova Violin Masterclass

Featuring RIAM violinists Iulia Tereza Florescu, Hannah O’Shea and Maria-Estella Fischer, performing music by Ysaÿe and Brahms.

Both masterclasses are open to the public.

On Sunday, Ibragimova and Tiberghien open the 2026/27 Wigmore Series Dublin with an all-Beethoven programme in the Whyte Recital Hall.

These one-day workshops offer expert insight into the new 2027 Piano Albums, launching the 2027 to 2030 cycle.

Congratulations to RIAM Junior Academy pianists Louise Byrne and Grace Bai on their outstanding success at the Eighth Scottish International Youth Piano Competition in Glasgow.

Louise, a student of Ray Keary, was awarded First Prize in the Junior Division, while Grace, a student of Hugh Tinney, received Second Prize in the Senior Division.

The competition took place at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland following its annual Piano Summer School, bringing together talented young pianists from around the world.

A wonderful international achievement for both musicians. Congratulations to Louise, Grace and their teachers!

We’re hiring: Digital Content & Social Media Executive

RIAM is seeking a creative and proactive content creator to help tell the story of Ireland’s national conservatoire across social and digital channels.

This hands-on role will involve creating, editing and publishing content, managing the social media calendar, identifying stories across the Academy, capturing performances and behind-the-scenes moments, and helping bring RIAM’s students, faculty, alumni and public events to wider audiences.

This role would suit someone with strong social media instincts, excellent attention to detail, and the confidence to spot a story and follow it through from idea to publication.

Bringing together acclaimed artists from Ireland and India in a performance that weaves together Indian classical music, Irish traditional music and dance. It's been a (very warm!) summer of music-making at RIAM!

Musicians of all ages and experience levels have come together across three very different summer courses, sharing ideas, building confidence and experiencing the joy of performing together.

Inside the Orchestra -
Adult amateur musicians spent three inspiring days exploring orchestral and chamber music, supported by RIAM tutors and conductor Davide Forti. The workshop concluded with a final performance in the Whyte Recital Hall, celebrating the enthusiasm, collaboration and musical growth of everyone involved.

DYC Summer Sing -
Young singers worked together in an energetic week of rehearsals, ensemble singing and performance with expert tutors from Dublin Youth Choir, developing their voices while discovering the excitement of making music as part of a choir.

Young Pianists Summer Intensive -
Twenty-seven young pianists joined RIAM Professors Therese Fahy and Conor Linehan for a week of focused learning and exploration, culminating in a live recital for family and friends.

Thank you to all the participants, tutors, families and audience members who made these courses so enjoyable for all involved!

If you're inspired to get involved, RIAM offers group classes and ensemble opportunities for adults with RIAM Lifelong Learning, as well as choirs and other musical opportunities for young people in our Junior Academy.
