Proud moment for our Department! 👏
Last week, our MSc student Mr Kurt Pace Debono presented his research at the 10th Meeting of the EURO Working Group on Vehicle Routing and Logistics Optimization (VeRoLog 2026), hosted by the University of Bath.
His presentation, "Electrifying Urban Logistics: A Time-Dependent Mixed-Fleet Green VRP Model Solved via ALNS", showcased the work carried out as part of his MSc dissertation which was supervised by Dr Maria Kontorinaki and Dr Monique Sciortino. The research explores how Operations Research can support the transition towards more sustainable urban logistics by combining conventional, electric, and hybrid-electric vehicles within a realistic time-dependent vehicle routing framework.
Congratulations, Kurt, on representing our department so well and on sharing your work with the international VeRoLog research community. Wishing you every success as you continue your research journey! 🚛⚡🌍
