LSU Shreveport has a proud history of success in debate. Join us as we continue to make our community proud!

Ever since its founding, the team has had a proud history of successful competition in local, regional and national tournaments. The team is made up of individuals who come from a variety of backgrounds and majors. Debate and Forensics can truly help make anyone a leader in their field. Anyone who has an interest in business, law, public relationships, politics, etc. should actively pursue a collegiate career in debate for preparation for their real world ambitions.

Hear ye, hear ye!

The Red River Classic is quickly approaching! We will be on campus from Friday, November 6th until Sunday, November 8th!

What's more? This year, we are welcoming back INDIVIDUAL EVENTS in addition to IPDA!!

To pull this off, we are asking our network to join us as a community judge!

The competition has long hours all 3 days, so there are several time slots outlined on the below form! If you are interested and available, please consider signing up for a few slots! (We recommend folks interested in judging multiple rounds do so back to back.)

3rd weekend in a row of competition, and we may be tired but we aren’t done yet!

This weekend a small group of us traveled up to Warrensburg, MO for the Missouri Mule hosted by UCM! Not only was the tournament great, but wemade a point to stop for some bonus joy along the way.

This weekend was PROOF that a good company and a good attitude can pull you through anything.

From a dead key battery in rural Louisiana to a medical emergency at midnight and everything in between these LSUS Debaters fought hard for these wins and their sanity.

(We’re all okay and made it home safely, but this weekend was certainly a difficult one.)

This tournament also included a special award known as the “Razorback Rockstar” award. This award celebrates a student in the IPDA community that embodies our values. Specifically, this award is presented to “ a student who has the passion, drive, and conviction to do their very best and always grow in this endeavor. This student is always at practice, always willing to learn and listen to constructive criticism, and has a great spirit within the Debate atmosphere. Above all else, the student uphold the ideals of the IPDA community”
