Alumni Spotlight: Dr. Shamarial Roberson
The FAMU Institute of Public Health is proud to highlight Dr. Shamarial Roberson, DrPH, MPH, CCHW, a distinguished alumna whose leadership continues to make an impact across public health and human services.
Dr. Roberson earned her Doctor of Public Health in Epidemiology & Biostatistics from Florida A&M University in 2016. Her career has spanned health policy, epidemiology, maternal and child health, emergency preparedness, community health promotion, program evaluation, and public health leadership.
She previously served as Deputy Secretary for Health at the Florida Department of Health, where she provided leadership across major areas including emergency preparedness, disease control and health protection, community health promotion, public health research, statistics, and performance management.
Today, Dr. Roberson serves as Founder and CEO of DSR Consulting and Management, LLC and Founder and President of the DSR Public Foundation, using her expertise to strengthen health systems, advance policy, build community partnerships, and improve maternal, child, and family health outcomes.
As we celebrate 30 years of FAMU’s Institute of Public Health, we are proud to recognize alumni like Dr. Roberson who embody the legacy of excellence, leadership, and service cultivated on the Highest of Seven Hills.
