"Today my priority is this research simulator! This one is much lower fidelity than the full a320 cockpit sim I posted last time, but with the FlightFactor a320 model on xplane 11 this simulator is still pretty feature rich!"

The Institute of Aerospace Technologies is once again offering LAS2048 – Introduction to Civil Aviation and Aeronautics, a 4 ECTS, MQF Level 6 micro-credential designed to introduce participants to the fascinating world of civil aviation and aeronautics.

🌍 Anyone can apply — you do not need to work in aviation or have a technical background. Whether you are considering a future in the aviation sector, already work in the industry, or simply have an interest in aircraft and flying, this course offers an opportunity to broaden your knowledge.

Over the course of the study unit, participants will explore topics including:

✈️ Principles of flight and aircraft design
🧭 Navigation, flight control and automation
🛫 The flight deck environment
🧑‍✈️ Human factors and aviation safety
🗼 Air traffic management
🏢 Airport and airline operations
🔧 Aircraft maintenance

The course also goes beyond the classroom, with visits to aviation-related facilities, including flight simulation and air traffic management facilities, giving participants the opportunity to experience different parts of the aviation sector first-hand.

Advanced UAV Technology & Operations – Microcredential Course

This course is delivered by the Institute of Aerospace Technologies in collaboration with Eagle Eye Innovations Ltd.

This course is tailored for commercial drone pilots and operators who have completed their foundational UAV training and are ready to progress into advanced and specialised operations.
