Il-Prof. Friggieri, li huwa Professur tal-Filosofija fl-Università ta’ Malta, huwa poeta, drammaturgu, direttur tat-teatru u awtur prolifiku, b’kontribut sinifikanti għall-ħajja akkademika u kulturali ta’ pajjiżna. Matul il-karriera tiegħu serva wkoll bħala Pro-Rettur tal-Università ta’ Malta u bħala Chairman tal-Bord tal-Istitut Edward de Bono 🏆👏

A proud moment for our students at the Eco Market in Pjazza Tritoni! They displayed and sold the beautiful artefacts created during the Summer Programme, demonstrating creativity, confidence, teamwork and practical skills.

The initiative reflects our commitment to bringing academic concepts in creativity beyond the university, translating them into meaningful experiences that benefit individuals, families and the wider community.

We also wish to thank the University of Malta, APS Bank, Agenzija Sapport, and My Supermarkets for their support. Without it this project would not have been possible.

Students with Intellectual Disabilities: A Case Study.
🙌 In addition to presenting their research, they participated in the Annual General Assembly of the ISSCI (International Society for the Study of Creativity and Innovation), and Prof. Mangion chaired a symposium and a paper session 🎉

Creative Minds Summer Programme 2026
For the second consecutive summer, the Edward de Bono Institute for Creative Thinking and Innovation organised Creative Minds, a seven-week summer programme for teenagers with disabilities.
Grounded in concepts of creative pedagogies, the programme provided opportunities for participants to explore, experiment and express themselves through creative and performing arts, while developing confidence, independence and an entrepreneurial mindset.
A heartfelt thank you to Opening Doors Malta for their valued partnership and to our amazing team of educators, whose warmth, encouragement and commitment created an environment in which every participant could engage and flourish.

Congratulations to Professor Leonie Baldacchino on her appointment as Pro-Rector for Internationalisation, Enterprise and Outreach, and to Professor Noellie Brockdorff, Chairperson of the Institute's Board, on her appointment as Pro-Rector for People, Quality and Communications.

These appointments are a testament to their outstanding leadership, dedication, and commitment to advancing excellence in higher education. Throughout their distinguished careers, both have made significant contributions to the University of Malta through their academic scholarship, strategic vision, and unwavering support for students, colleagues, and the wider community.

We are delighted to see their expertise and experience recognised through these important roles. ✨ Prof. Cooney was recently recognised as European Entrepreneurship Educator of the Year 2026 at an awards ceremony in Norway 🏆 He will be delivering a lecture titled:
"The Case for Re-centering Inclusion in Entrepreneurship"
📖 Abstract: In this webinar, Prof. Cooney shall reflect on how entrepreneurship can become a force for inclusion rather than exclusion. He shall challenge conventional approaches to entrepreneurship and make the case for placing inclusion at the centre of entrepreneurial policy, education, and practice.
